1 Rolex or 2 Tudors?
Ok, I've tried on all 3. Love them all
I can buy a explorer I 39mm or The Tudor Pelagos AND The Tudor date-day for The same price

If it were me & I had my Sub & DJ I'd go for the 2 Tudors.

Yes that and the fact that from the pics, the Tudors just do not have that razor-sharp lines and finishing of a Rolex, lets say a Seadweller .... I had not even heard of Tudor until I walked into an AD to buy a SUB. There he told me that Tudor was made in the Rolex factory but that did not impress me.
The SUB just stood out from all the Tudors he had on display... I would personally never pay more than $500 for a Tudor or Seiko... |

You have great advice and well said! I briefly glanced at Tudor history a little while back and I know that they are being made since the 1940s I think ...I am not saying they are not great watches ... they are very well made and high quality but in no way could they command prices like ROLEX itself or anywhere close ... The world knows ROLEX and I pay a premium for that ...I get the name, the craftsmandhip, the resale, the aura, the clout and the WOW factor with ROLEX ... I can not say the same for a TUDOR ... However I do believe that a TUDOR will out live any ROLEX when properly taken careof and any seiko will do the same .... But when I spend thousands on a watch, I want maximum points on my side and only ROLEX offers that as far as I know. |

As much as those Tudors look really nice, IMO the Explorer wins out of the options.

Not a big fan of Tudor date-day. If you need date and are OK with bigger diving watch go with Pelagos and save for Exp 1. That may be the best way to go. You get one now and have something to look forward to.
Good luck selecting. |

This is totally random, but does the Tudor emblem look more like a laughing jester's face than a coat of arms, to anyone besides me? |

I always though that it looked like some kind of shield but now that you mention it...

I love the Pelagos but if I had to make the choice I'd pick the Explorer I. Good luck with your decision.

Explorer is one of my tops. So I'd go that.
If you asked sub, I'd pick the Tudors.

It seems like you have a SD and a ExpII in your collection. Can you add 2 more to your rotation? For me 3s a crowd so I'd go with the Exp1 to have a 3 watch rotation instead of 4. But the Tudors you chose are gorgeous pieces.

The Pelagos is an awesome watch, but I agree that if you already have the Sub and Exp II, the Exp I is a great choice. It's sleek enough that it can be dressed up, and although the Exp I is rugged, you can rotate your others in, or use them as your sport/tool watches.

tough one... I like having the date function, but the Exp 39mm is just so close to being "perfect". I actually like the Pelagos more than the Submariner and the Day-Date isn't bad either... tough call, but I'd go with ONLY the Pelagos....

Not a big fan of Tudor so I would choose the 214270. But you said you love them all so I'm sure its a tough choice. But if you do love all 3 of those watches, you can't go wrong with either decision.

It all boils down to one thing... you. Get the one you want the most, and you probably already know what that is.

Tudor is not an inferior product.
IMO that explorer is mighty plain. Oh, it does have a crown on it though... I think the Tudors have style. I appreciate the brand for what it is and my choice in this instance would be the two Tudors.
