I'm sure you have noticed that there are dozens of different kinds of budget-priced watch winders available, not to mention the more expensive ones from the upmarket makers.
The system you identify is similar to other modular ones I saw while researching the subject recently, prior to buying a 'two-watch winder'. With so much variety, it really comes down to what you want to pay. I bought mine off an Ebay auction for $90. and so far so good. It uses a Mabuchi motor like the one you identify. I think many brands use that motor. In the end, about $100. was what I wanted to pay. If it fails I will buy a more expensive one from a company with a reputation. Good luck.
