Basel - From the Tudor fans, what is your opinion

We have been beating the Black and Blue GMT, the SS YM 2, the Platty Daytona, all to death, but I haven't heard too much about the Tudor side of the house. I am slowly becoming more and more of a Tudor admirer, still learning about the line up and getting familiar with the models, but for you Tudor-WISes, what did you think about this year's show?

Its color combo reminds me of the Heuer Monoco and the Gulf Team; tho round vs. square.

It is a unique look for sure.

For me personally, Basil really hasn't produced anything of interest. I'm not disappointed, because I don't expect watch makers to cater to my interests.

It is nice though when something comes out like the Sky Dweller that, even though I admire it very much, I wouldn't be able to afford in five lifetimes.

Tudor's new chronos are interesting, but they are not something I would be interested in even if they were sold here, either because blue watches don't really excite me that much (TT Subs excepted) and also because the new ceramic-cased ones would be very hard for me to see, except in very bright light.

Tudor really did it for me this year. I love the Monte Carlo and the Black Shield looks good to me too. I prefer both of them to the Rolex releases and they are more affordable to me. The Monte Carlo is something I see on my wrist in the next year or 2. We shall see I guess.

I like the new addition. Cool colors for sure like noted. I hope they still offer the grey/black dials on the Heritage chrono's which are great. Last year was a big hit with Pelagos and Black Bay. Hard to top 2012 for Tudor. Maybe see something else, ... dunno. All in all, I love the modern Tudors with vintage design cues as well as the iconic vintage pieces that remain so popular.

Like Tudor, but not a huge face of all their current models. This ones not doing it for me either. I do like the Fast Rider, though.

Don't like this at all. It seems the Shield is just trying too hard. They should stay away from black.

Hi Everyone,

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really like Tudor.

I think that the new Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue is simply stunning and superb.
But I have been liking what Tudor have been doing with the Heritage range these last few years.

But my two favourite Tudor’s now are – Black Bay and Chrono Blue.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this but… I really, really, really like Tudor.

I wonder what will be the next Heritage release???

Till next time…

The Laird

Correct David! Saw the blue in person and it is an absolute must own! Will post pics from my trip to Basel when I arrive back in the Americas! This pic of my grey THC will have to do for now!

I absolutely love the aesthetics of the THC!!!

The shield IMHO doesn't look my cup, like a diesel watch or something
THC blue is cool but I'd never buy that combo.

Basel was a bit disappointing for tudor. Last year was a knock out with the Bb

I'm with Sam, love the blue TCH! Not sure I would buy one since I have the grey dial but then you never know. ;-)
Tudor continues to to develope in a positive direction, IMHO. Although not all new models are to my taste Tudor I can appreciate their approach and enjoy the new releases.

Probably get flamed for saying it, but that Black Shield is hideous and doesn't represent the Tudor brand very well.

Hideous might be a strong word , but, extremely cheap/drugstore quality looking? Yes. The ceramic treatment they came up with is off (compare it to the new Omega Speedy or PAM 292), and the applied branding on the dial is pretty bad.

Among the current offerings from Tudor and for quite some time (since the late 90s), Tudor's only worthy designs, IMHO, are the BB, Pelagos and THC (black, grey and now blue). I just can't get behind the rest.

It's strange, because the ones I like I really like, and the ones I don't like, I really dislike. Almost like two brands within a brand.

It's an extremely unattractive watch. The case looks cheap and the blacked out dial with loud markers is garish. Clearly Rolex wanted to get into the ceramic watch game with a cheap and "youthful" watch - too bad it's just ugly.

The Blue Heritage Chrono for me is tops--great job Tudor!! As for the Black Shield--not digging it myself. Cheers,
