Mini Dallas GTG Last Night!

Beaumont Miller (John) and his wife visited us in Dallas last night - truly enjoyed our time with John and his wife. We visited the JFK museum in downtown Dallas. They made the School Book Depository into a museum with the actual window/shooter location re-enacted with boxes, preserved within a plexiglass enclosure. There is an X painted on the street below where the presidential limo was at the time of each shot - significant history and a must see if you are in Dallas.

Later, we had cocktails on our back patio in perfect 70 degree temps. Of course we broke out the watches to much good natured eye rolling from the ladies and my daughter - then onto a delicious dinner. We shared, louped and played with the following references: (2) 5512s, (one gilt) 5513, 1680, 14060, 1803 Rose Gold, 18038, my wife's wedding present DJ, Johns STUNNING PCG 1675, and an interloping PAM - so much fun - and a wonderful example of how our forum can create new and lasting friendships

Russ, thanks for sharing. Sounds like a perfect way to spend the day with friends. I recognize a number of the watches in the group shot and can't help but notice the stunning 1680 in the center of the action :)

Nice collection of Rolexes on that table but they always do things big in Texas.

Russ a big thank you to your family for being such gracious hosts to Kathy and I this weekend. Everything from the museum, to cocktails, to dinner, and finally to getting up early on Sunday, drinking espresso and talking about watches some more made for a great weekend. I agree with you that our wives were good sports as the camera started taking pictures of watch after watch...only after we took pictures of them, of course. Your 1680, 18038, and 14060 are all beautiful examples, and I am glad I got a chance to see them in person. I look forward to more good times.

Thanks for the kind words all!
Sharing our thoughts, watches and experiences in person takes it to another level.
I have been fortunate enought to be involved in large and mini GTGs - all are so rewarding

I have also been to the JFK Museum and enjoyed it tremendously. Even though you know how things are going to end, they still manage to build up formidable suspense. Very cool.

Sounds like a great time Russ !
I have a sister in Dallas and have been to the JFK Museum a couple times and it was awesome.
If you have another GTG in Dallas I might have to take a trip down.
