Hi guys I wonder if you could help me in choosing a Rolex diver, I just bought my first Explorer 39mm to wear for work and now I would like to buy another one for week ends, diving and just have fun on the beach here in Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya.

I have given 2 years of thought to my next watch. The Explorer I 214270, for me, functions as a great work and day-to-day watch. I do find myself wanting a weekend companion though.

I keep coming back to two choices. Omega Speedy Pro and Sub-C No Date. Haven't decided yet as I am a "buy and keep forever" type of buyer.

But given your parameter of needing a functional dive watch, I heartily agree with advice offered. Sub C in one of its variations or DSSD as the mood takes you.

I know the Omega Planet Ocean has many fans. I just think the resale is likely to hold better, if trade is desired, on the Sub C/DSSD.

My signature says it all...

I too thought my 39mm Exp was going to be my work watch and the Sub-C Date for weekends... Negative.... turns out I use the bezel on the Sub-C Date for timing things quite a bit at work and end up wearing the Exp on the weekends.

i went with a 1680 to complement my 39mm exp1 and couldn't be happier! going back and forth between new and vintage never gets old...

Easy sub! The submariner is the ultimate diver/outdoors/rugged sporty/do it all watch IMO... One of the few watches that does it all from hiking - weddings and everything in between

Thanks guys...the Pelagos could also be a nice alternative....I really do like a lot the bracelet with the automatic system that adjusts to your wrist...very clever...well it will be a very hard decision....:)
