Vintage Datejust 1601 questions

Hi members, I've just acquired this 1977 bi metal Datejust ref 1601. It has a 14k gold and steel bracelet - Does this mean that the fluted bezel and crown are also 14k gold? How does one tell 14k from 18k on the watch head? Any other info on this "pie pan" dial model much appreciated, thank you!

Yes it should be, but a lot of swapping goes on. Does the clasp code correspond to the watches year of manufacture approx ? Crown has likely been replaced, it is a normal service part changed routinely it could be a 18k replacement.

Because the question whether the bezel is steel or gold is also asked quite often. If you can't see the difference then why bother imho.
