How much to replace DJII YG bezel?

An idiot buddy of mine I work with just threw a glass bowl at me joking around and smacked by bezel, flattening out one of the points on the fluted bezel. It's driving me nuts and my OCD wont let this pass, does anyone know how much for a new bezel?

Probably your friend should pay no matter the cost.

I'm interested...just because I'm curious...

My guess: more than $1000.00.

He threw a glass bowl at you??
I think you got off lucky with just dented bezel.

My OCD would also probably not leave this alone...

Have you tried calling RSC?

I haven't called anywhere yet, I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying for a new bezel. My eye just sees it every time I look at it...

That's why I suggested calling RSC. The only way to decide if it's worth paying for a new bezel is to find out how much one would cost. Depending on the damage perhaps a repair is possible, but I wouldn't give that job to just anyone. Again, perhaps RSC could repair it though I doubt they could give you an estimate for a repair without seeing the watch. But they should be able to tell you how much a replacement would cost. I don't know, maybe they don't quote prices for parts over the phone. In that case a local AD could probably find out for you.

It might be somewhat repairable. Give a good watchmaker a call.

Crap sorry bud. That really sucks. Like someone else said your buddy should be responsible to pay.

I'm pretty sure a good watch maker should be able to repair it.

I didn't think about sending it to a watchmaker but that's not a bad idea... I doubt RSC would do it without a full service.

I'm moving to nyc in a month, does anyone know of a good watchmaker in nyc that could mend a gold bezel?

It's hard to catch in a pic, but you can see here half of one flute on the bezel is flattened out instead of being sharp and pointed. It doesn't look bad in the pic, and it's not terrible in person either, but that flat spot reflects light at all angles and is very noticeable on the bezel as a whole. Add that to the fact that I'm neurotic and I can't take it lol!!

Is it the inner edge at the 45 mark? If not, I'm not seeing it.

Yes, half of the fluted edge is flattened out. I know it's hard to see in the pic, but it's noticable in person.

The watch turns 2 on Sunday and this is the first noticable blemish!!

I can see it, and it would bother me. I hit a brushed lug on the door handle at the office. It didn't change the shape of the lug, just realigned the finish, but it still made me sick. I'm almost OK with it now - maybe consider doing nothing with it for a month or two (after you kick your friend in the crotch).

Go see a shrink for your neurotic behavior :) Just remember if you do replace the bezel, sell your old one for the gold content and recover some of the expense.

IMO your options are:

A) leave it alone
B) pop it off and claim it was lost, replace it, and sell the old one to offset the cost
C) get it repaired but I think you can minimize the damage but not entirely remove it

You covered all of the bases Mike. I think I'm going to try to get it repaired. I'm ok if it's not 100%, but 90% would be nice... Does anybody know of anyone, particularly in the nyc area that could do such a job?

My initial thought was rikki, except I'll pay more to ship it to him than the repair will likely cost.

Dare I suggest, pop it off and get it repaired by a local jeweler, watchmaker or not, and then have a watchmaker/jeweler press it back it on.

I would look at a reputable jeweler first...

Even a decent jeweler should be able to fix that at a much better price than a watchmaker...
