LV and Daydate or Daytade II? Advice Please

Dear Friends

I am in a bind for choices.

I have a 16610LV Sub.

But I want a Daydate (either DD or DD II).

The options I have would be:

1. Keep the 16610LV and buy a 118238 Daydate.

2. Sell the 16610LV and add the funds to a 218238 Daydate II

I prefer to buy brand new from my AD.

I would be grateful for your thoughts and advice.

Thanks

Don

Funny you say that, because I was about to say, "Easy!! #2" If you're dead set on purchasing from an AD then I'd recommend going with the DDII. If you really want a 36mm DD you can get them at a huge discount 2nd hand. The DDIIs are still $25k used.

I prefer the DDII in the 41mm size, so I guess it is option #2 for me:)

Easy 1. You will regret selling the LV I can tell you as sure as I can tell you the earth revolves around the sun.

Thanks Gents

Bit of a hard choice.

I also feel like if I give up the LV, will miss it as I already had the 16610 sub and the ceramic 116610 sub. I much prefer the LV.

Bitten and smitten by the gold bug.

Cheers, Don

I would get the watch you really want and forget about what you need to sell/trade to get it. If you want the DD2 then get it, you can pick up another Sub at a later date but forking out for another DD because you got the wrong one is not economically sound.

I recently parted with my SS Daytona and almost my SS SubC as well (which would have been my whole collection) to buy a brand new from AD YG Daytona. For the same money, I could have kept my SS Daytona and SubC and ADDED a brand new from AD SS GMT2, an Explorer, and an SS DateJust, but you know what? I would have had 5 great watches but I would not have been happy. I wanted the YG Daytona, I got it, and I have never been happier.

Oh, and while at the AD, just before you pull the trigger, try on a full gold Daytona if they have one!

DD2 is the ultimate. I say don't settle for two nice watches rather get one great one.

Hi, I'd suggest #1 as you've got a sports model, get yourself a dress watch (DD) for a balance.
Cheers!
