Rolex Service Warranty

I received my Daytona back from RSC Dallas back in January and for the first couple of months everything seemed fine. Lately, every two to three weeks it stops completely. The watch is my daily wearer.

I thought it was just the reserve time expiring when I took it off at nights so for the last few weeks I have wound it every once in a while and even wear it every night to see if this makes a difference but it still stops completely occasionally.

So, it this somewhat normal or do I have to send it back in for warranty service and wait the 4-6 weeks it will take??

Doesn't sound normal. Remember the watch only maintains the power reserve with the rotor and 40 turns is fully wound.

First I would do a power reserve test now the cal 4130 Daytona movement needs around 60 plus full crown turns clockwise to fully wind. Then it should run around 72 hours while off wrist give or take a hour or so,I would try that first. If that checks out that side is fine, then rewind fully and wear as normal. If then it stops you could have a problem with the auto wind mechanism, and needs to be checked out it will be covered with your 2 year service warranty.

If it checks OK via Peter's post, then up your exercise program

But if it stalls out in 24-48 hours it isn't the rotor...
Check your receipt - did they change the mainspring? That's what I'd suspect.
Usually not done in an overhaul - so it may have just broken coincidentally.

If it is the old mainspring that broke, the warranty may not cover it...

Aaargh, sounds like forum consensus says its no good so I will have to take it back in for a check. So, even official Rolex Service isn't full proof it seems...

Thanks for the input everyone!

Well I would say the consensus says you might have a problem do the check first its not rocket science.

If you accepted all the repairs the RSC suggested, then the warranty covers every part of the watch for two years. Send it back! The only charge should be your shipping to Dallas. Hopefully you still have the service box they returned your watch in. Box it up, insure it for full value, and get it back in their hands. Be sure you let us know the results after it is safely back on your wrist. We live to hear these kinds of stories!

This just sucks, do a PR test and if it isn't up to snuff then ship it back. Keep us posted.
