Anyone come across this?

A coworker who happens to be a watch lover told me to google 2RB tourbillon.
He is very excited about this project.

I however, am quite skeptical. What do you guys think?
I'd probably pick one up if it really did happen.

I'd have serious concerns about quality and service.

I agree Mike. As little as I know about watches in general. I'm pretty sure that the words $250 and Tourbillon don't go hand in hand. However, I don't mind giving it a try for 250$ on the off chance it works out.

As you can see on that listing, the project has been suspended, so you couldn't buy it even if you wanted to. Apparently, the same guy (Allison) claims he has now terminated another project because Kickstarter suspended this one. Allison was exchanging accusations of misrepresentation with the guy behind another project that has yet to deliver, Lew and Huey. Got very ugly. Good example of where 'buyer beware' and 'buy the seller' apply. At Kickstarter, you're not buying an existing product sitting on shelves, but pre-paying for something that has yet to be produced and for which the promoter may not even have contracts in place to get it produced.

Yea, feel bad for anyone who invested into it.

Right?
But then again ETA refurbished the Lemania 5100 for Swatch using plastic parts.
Maybe this was a plastic tourbillon!!!

You're not even doing that - people should not look at Kickstarter like a preorder or prepurchase. You aren't buying anything via Kickstarter, you are donating towards capital to help see a project you are interested in be completed. The "rewards" of sending you product for your donation aren't a contract, you haven't actually bought any goods.

A small but important distinction.

If you have any money left over, I'm a Nigerian prince who needs money to retrieve my family's fortune. If you could wire me $5,000 good sir, I will gladly give you 20% of the 30 million I am hoping to recover.

So if the "funding is suspended", as it claims on the website, what happens to the $16.5K that was pledged by donators? Is it returned?

UPDATE: I read on the website where 'any funding is canceled, all pledges are immediately voided.'
