31mm Datejust Confusion?
Hi All,
Ive been and am presently interested in a 31mm Datejust. I have agonized over the 36mm cause it " didn't look too bad and after considerable try on time, grew on me". But in retrospect, the 31mm looked best. As crazy as this sounds, I want to start an automatic watch wardrobe. Currently I have all Quatrz models/SS Bracelets: Omega: Seamaster Black, Ladies, date, black dial Burburry: 29mm Pink dial, date. Tag: 28 mm Aqua Racer with MOP, stick dial, SS Bracelet, date CG Guess: 32mm, MOP, date, ceramic white...summer fun watch. I would like to commemorate the next stage in my life (singlehood), ok ok, freedom, with a Rolex, 31mm. I did try on 36mm but in the end decided the 31mm looked best and I hope I have another 40 yrs before the watches have to be willed away. LOL I am looking at one day owning 2 Datejusts, one with black dial, and one with Silver Roman numerals with white or MOP dial. The white dial with Oyster bracelet with scattered diamond bezel or perhaps a 2ndary market for this. My 1st choice: Black stick dial with Jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel.... 2nd Choice: the rest.. either a white silver numeral dial with oyster bracelet and smooth bezel with or without scattered diamonds in smooth bezel..aka Statdust bezel 3rd Choice: Oyster bracelet, with white or MOP roman numerals, and get after market dial for the watch. Almost a Rolex owner..just being too rational to get there quick. LOL Any thoughts or common sense ideas you might like to share.... Thank you.. Judy :-) |

Congratulations on the next phase of your life!
The 31mm DJ is a great choice. My wife wears hers every single day and absolutely loves it...

Saddle,
Thank you for posting that pic! I have been scanning the site for wrist shots to solidify my choices and Im happy to see this one. Its the very one I will get if the scattered diamond bezel doesn't pan out. LOL I showed the Black stick dial with jubilee and fluted option to my friends one night and they all collectively agreed the watch "looked confused". Also, the saleswomen said the same thing.... I should pair the Black stick dial with Oyster/smooth and the Silver Roman numeral to jubilee/fluted. LOL And here is your wifes watch and does not look the least bit confused to me. haha MJD, seems to be a winning combination Levinson.. The Datejust is also the one with the smaller size option as well. I tried on the 34mm, which also looked good but I didn't like the dial options for it. The only one I liked enough was the black dial with alternating diamonds. I dont want diamonds on my dial. I know... a woman not wanting diamonds! Untill I saw the scattered bezel, didn't want diamonds on my watch at all. I know a bit about diamonds and for the cost, would rather buy a tennis or diamonds by the yard bracelet. They sure are pretty and some have made me simple say "wow", but isn't on my radar at the moment. :-) Thanks gentleman for your ideas. Im ready to pull the trigger, just thought I would get a few opinions on the matter in case there was something I hadn't thought about. Last edited by vitalsignsrn; 19 July 2013 at 10:27 PM.. Jubilee makes the watch pop more IMHO.

Jubilee is certainly more blingy. I love both bracelets, the jubilee says Rolex to me even though, if Ive read correctly, the Oyster came out 1st. I do like the weight of the Oyster. Hmmm, maybe Im talking myself out of the Jubilee bracelet. LOL The diamond dial is pretty on that watch. Just waiting for some pricing now. Hopefully, wont be too long before I have one. :-)

Your first choice is a good one. My daughter in law has that watch, but she has the pink stick dial. 31 mm datejust is a great woman's watch.
