GMT 2C black vs black/blue...

I currently have a GMT2C, and bought it right when they came out. Love the style, but I always like color too. So just wondering what current GMT2C black owners are thinking? I love the new black/blue version, but it appears its commanding almost 2k more than the black one currently. $7500 vs $9500. Is it really worth a color change on the bezel? So what are current GMT2C owners thinking of doing?

- nothing, enjoying what you have?
- adding the blue one too?
- trading in the black for the blue and taking a hit?
- waiting until the dust settles in a year or so, then do something?

Thanks for the feedback

I thought the BLNR was $8,950. Did you get a quote of $9,500 from an AD?

I like the black and clue but would not pay a premium for one. It will be nicely priced when the hype dies down.

The BLNR should be priced near LN models when the hype dies down. It is the exact same watch except the bezel after all.

I'm content with my LN especially since I've only had it for about three weeks. I am not interested in the blue n black for now. HOWEVER, I am interested in the silver stick dial DJII with smooth bezel!

I've never been a fan of much green, but Ironically don't mind it on the 16610LV. I just put a deposit on the new bi-color GMTc, but never had the urge to buy the classic GMTc. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It depends. The blAck gmtIIc dresses well and it has more range in terms of formal to casual clothing.

The black and blue one is more casual and it does not go well with a suit.

I saw one in person and did not like the blue color ceramic.

I'd disagree. My sense is the blu.blk will look fantastic with formal wear. This pic (borrowed ) suggest that and was confirmed when I tried one on with a white business shirt.

I think it's an an outstanding new piece. The work on the bezel is extraordinary....so much so it's patented

I am a fan of the GMT 2c SS but never enough to keep one.

This one however I feel may stick around.

I'd grab one now and trade in a heart beat

Keep black. Blue is just the new guy. It's nice, don't get me wrong. But i like more classic. I wouldn't trade straight up a black for a blue/black combo.

X2. I like the green hand and text as well on the black.

Still prefer the black 116713. No office to Bruiser lovers and normally love the color blue. But personally Rolex had a perfectly nice color pattern layout and they took a step backwards with the blue GMT hand for the Bruiser. However I suppose I can be strongly persuaded if the words GMT MASTER were worded in high gloss Dark blue on the Bruiser to match the styling of the 116710LN.

As a GMT IIc owner (all black), I'm doing nothing because I'm not keen on the blue/black combo.

It's different I'll admit, but not attractive enough for me to want to buy it - and pay a premium on top.

I agree...its funny in the design world pair ing black and blue is a no no...I know it symbolizes night and day but I find it a bit industrial looking so Id stick with Black. Good luck with whatever you choose...

Option 5.1

I will wait until used ones pop up, and will dump my black in favor of the blue/black. At that point, I can always swap to a black insert at will since I have a new insert/bezel/bearing combo on hand for just the occasion. I know, I know, these are fragile and you can't change them... Blah blah blah.... But perhaps I will be the first! You know I can't keep my stuff non-modded!!! Haha!!!

Nice idea but it won't be the same watch because the new version has a blue GMT hand and white lettering whilst the original has a green hand and green lettering.

Black works best for me. The blue's dial is all white text and looks a bit sterile

Keep the black. It's a classic.
If you really have to get the new blue, wait out for about 2yrs for it to settle down.
Hope that helps.

Cannot see the point its the same watch except for a bit of blue and colour dial fonts. Now if the ceramic inserts were the same price as the older aluminium ones and as easy to change then it would be not problem to change.
