No. IMO the SubC or DSSD are the spiritual successors to the SD.

It has nothing to do with size. It's about adding the ceramic bezel, which if damaged costs thousands to replace versus less than $100 for a metal insert.

Too big and chunky for my tastes, so I never even got to the ceramic part. The only reason I got a SD over a sub is that I don't like the cyclops. I sure don't need the depth rating of the SD, heck not even the sub for that matter, and surely not the DSSD!

It does not cost thousands to replace a ceramic bezel, where do guys get this stuff. Gross exaggeration....It's simple, if you can't afford the the oil changes, tires, insurance, you know maintenance, then don't buy a Ferrari(not directed at you, just general statement to all complainers).

A G-Shock battery cost $3 and a Fossil watch will run you $150, for a whole watch....no pesky bezel price worries for either.

Okay, I hadn't seen any numbers since the initial reports came out and Google just showed me it's closer to $450. Sorry for the misinformation. Still, I'm just not a fan of the glossy ceramic bezel. The matte ceramic on the Pelagos with the lumed numbers still has a tool watch look IMHO, and YES that is one I am actually considering buying.

Can't really see it happening though and would probably be considered blasphemous to a lot of traditionalists.

In a New York second. Make it 42mm with a thinner case to 500 meters and it'd be a New York 1/2 second.

Personally, I think a beefier, 40mm SD with a ceramic bezel is the route that Rolex should have taken, rather than building the DSSD.

As it is, my 14060M is the only diver I need.
