Basel Worth the Trip?

Going to France in April 2014 and was thinking about a side trip to Basel. For those of you that have been, is it worth a day to get there? And any advise?

That's like asking if a pilgrimage to Woodstock is worth it!

I never been to Basel World before but would love to go. If you have an opportunity to do so, you should attend. Bring you camera and take lots of good pics to share!

ive never been there either but someday i must make the trip - but before i do i also must have a bucket of money (literally) to bring with - its more fun if you come home with party favors

I mean if your into Swiss luxury watches and all.... I don't think you needed to ask the question, since your a Rolex Forum member, so obviously you are into them!!! Plus you'll be so close to the event, so I'd say it's definitely worth a trip down!!! I would love to go, but my schedule really doesn't permit me to, and I live in the US, so it would be quite the haul to look at watches... I think the wife would kill me before I would even get a look at the plane ticket!!! Lol

It will cost you a half Rolex in expenses to say the least. If you have the money to burn it's a unique experience I'd think

Went to Baselworld this year for the first time. Having friends to meet there made it great fun as it was nice to have veteran tour guides.
It was just a one day part of our vacation to Switzerland but was a lot of fun to attend and be present for the unveiling of new releases.

I used to live in Bern and have been twice to the watch fairI ,If you are in France anyway i would recommend a trip over the border to go and spend the day, it's a long day though and you might not see everything in one day.
Also eating and drinking is not cheap
