Medal of Honor
Had the privilege of hanging with Mike Thornton, retired Navy Seal, one of the founders of Seal team 6 and Medal of Honor recipient, yesterday.
Mike was wearing his GMT and I had to ask about his issues Sub, he said when the navy found out the cost of repair, they were turned in and destroyed! He was able to keep his and gave to his son. Man the missions that watch must seen. He is on his 3rd Rolex now I thought I would share this cool story and gloat over meeting this hero! My sub is in the sling, lol |

The best is that he stayed with my Marine Corps league after dinner and got messed up with us for 4 hours. He never looked down at us and treated us as equals!
His GMT was beat! It was hard to get a pic without him knowing I was trying to get the pic of the watch |

When I was in Boot Camp at MCRD, San Diego, in September of 1967, while recovering from a broken fibula, Captain Charles Krulak, the future Commandant and son of LtGen. Victor Krulak, was the CO of Special Training Branch, of which Casual Company was a part.
I was working as a runner for the Branch office, while my leg finished healing and while serving there, I had the privilege to serve coffee to Capt. Krulak, his father, and GySgt. Jimmie Howard, following the ceremony in which the Gunny was awarded his Medal of Honor. Of course, being a Maggot, I was lower than whale dung and didn't dare utter a word and no one in the skipper's tiny office even gave me a second glance. Still, it was an honor I'll never forget. Semper Fidelis!
