Survival band for Rolex. Would you???

Ok guys I just got a gift from my boss who is a survival end of the world kind of guy and he made me a bracelet for survival. It is a black para cord bracelet with 13ft of cord that can be taken apart and used for several different survival situations. I called him and asked if he could make one for a war h and he said he could. Would you put one on a watch??

Nope... .
I think it would give a Rolex a Gshock kind of look, not that there is anything wrong with the Gshock.

I wouldn't put it on a watch, but I love the idea of having some usable cordage on your wrist while hiking, boating, etc...

That is what he makes them for. I was just thinking of killing two birds with one watch.

The problem with that theory is, as soon as you use the chord if you find yourself in a pinch you now have no way to wear your watch. Carrying parachord is something I do, but be careful carrying it in such a way that it makes life harder if you need to use it.

A parachord watch strap is a statement, not all that functional as a backup.

I don't totally agree if I'm in a spot where I desperately need the cord(life or death) need to catch food start a fire the war h is the last thing on my mind I would think putting it in your pocket would be ok for the time being.

I get what you're saying, but do you want to end up with a pocket watch because you broke a shoe lace.

If you need to potentialy catch food, you need to have a proper snare in your pack.

It's your watch, if you like it knock yourself out.

Post pics of the finished product, I'd like to see.

My oldest made me a parachord bracelet as a Cub Scout project. I wear it. No way I would use one as a strap for a Rolex.

If the world's coming to an end, my Rolex is the last thing I'm grabbing. On a G-Shock? Sure.

So that's what that is... I work with correctional officers and a bunch of them have that on their watches while some have them as bracelets. That's pretty interesting. I'd probably get one as a bracelet but not for a Rolex. However, maybe if I saw one on something rugged like an Explorer II I could be convinced otherwise. But It's hard to imagine.

I probably wouldn't use a paracord strap for my watch. I'd feel that the clasp isn't secure enough.

I'm sure you could find a better clasp. Or a more reliable one.
