Serial Numbers

Hi All, really new to all of this. I finally jumped the gun and got myself a new Explorer II in white dial. Now, I've never really owned a "really fancy" watch before (had a Tissot, a Tag & a Titoni) and decided to finally get a Rolex since well, my sister's wedding was coming up & I thought I might get myself something nice to "show off" on her big day (ok yes I'm shallow sorry). The explorer ii appealed to me because it looked, well, kind of sporty & I really liked the orange dial.

Ok so, anyway, back to the topic. After much research online, I realised that my explorer ii has what looks to be a random serial number. My question is:

A) Since it's a random serial, and since I bought it from a the only AD here, they'd service it np. If I get posted overseas and bring it to another AD or service center, would they service it as well since, umm, I'm not too sure how the random serial number thing works.

B) If I decide to sell it in the future, would the random serial number thing be verifiable at an AD (where ever I am in the world).

I do get posted a lot by my Company to work in different locations so that's why I'm asking. Again, sorry for the long post but would appreciate some insights since I'm new to the whole Rolex thing. Thanks again.

It's just a serial number..

Your toaster has one too probably, and your car; maybe even your lawn mower.....

It doesn't do anything, or mean anything, or change anything anywhere in the world.. It's just a number..

Your warranty papers mean something, however.

Well yes, the warranty card def means something, didn't think about that. Sorry maybe I was just freaking out out a bit. Thanks guys!

About a serial number?

Well, watch is great, so no qualms about that though I still have no idea how the 24hr hand works. Anyway what I was paranoid about was that in the past, from what I read, Rollies used to be "trackable" from their serials, for example, anything starting with Z or starting with M, & matching it up to the engraving and papers. Again sorry, just being a bit paranoid since I guess if I needed servicing I could always bring it to a dealer to have it serviced and they'd open it up and all that stuff anyways so no real problems now.

Had a beer or 2 as well when it struck me about the random serials .

This is my first purchase with my own cash of what I'd call a "real" watch since the previous watches were gifts from family so I've never shelled out any cash before for those watches so was just worried what might happen in the future....oh well.
