Three Rolexes and My Wife
Seems the wife can't do any better than me, now that she is stuck with four kids, and she went way overboard this Christmas. She purchased me a TT Daytona with black face and a TT JUB L series GMT black face. Then, she talked me into purchasing yesterday a TT JUB N series GMT bronze face. Trust me...I am not worth it, but I will accept the gifts with a big old smile. Will post pictures tomorrow in the watch gallery forum. No jokes about old people and their TTs.

I purchased both from Grey dealers on eBay, as I did the other two AND my wife's TT DJ. Thank the Lord for good Grey dealers!!!

Just want to say that I am not bragging...I just wanted to share with people, who care about Rolexs, about my good luck. Hard work and lots of risk taking has been rewarded. Allan, it was the picture of your "Root Beer" that caught my eye many months ago. Then I saw Dan's GMT on a JUB bracelet and I knew that someday I would find the right one and I did.

Bubba, You are fortunate as am I. My wife has never said a thing about my watch addiction, errraahh hobby. I like to include her and get her opinions when I am considering the "biggies" so she feels a part when I buy one.
Almost all the rest of my friends like to give me grief about it as their other halves are not so easy. In fact, one of my close friends had me buy his Explorer II and told his wife I found him a used one for $2k so she wouldn't know what he paid. Now I can black mail him at will. Heheheh. I like your collection as well.

Nice post and thanks for sharing. One of the successes to our marriage is that we give the other the opportunity to be involved in each others lives. For instant, I always include the whole family when I am in the collecting mood. My wife and kids know more about guns, coins, airplanes, guitars, woodworking, fine dining at Hooters and Corvettes than they ever thought they would. On the other hand, I know more about tennis, barbie dolls, cooking, painting, cotton candy making, sports, vacuum cleaners, so called fine dining, make-up, hair styles, cothes, shoes and so than I ever thought I would. If they do not want to be involved with my silliness then I am fine with that. My wife is into remodeling the home and she always gives me the opportunity to voice my opinion and help set the budget. If I show no interest, then she handles the transaction and I have to live with the results. This approach may not work for some, but it works for us. Lastly, we believe that cash is the only way to go and if we don't have the cash at the time we do not buy. Keeps me out of trouble. |

Throw a Lady Prez with a diamond dial on her arm and see what happens...you'd shocked at they way she'll "embrace" your next purchase!
