The other problem would be trying to find pre 1960s money. If you handed todays money you might be arrested. You would need one like this

In the end, these watches have always been expensive. Even in 1960 it was a lot of money if you look at what people made in those days.

I bet most people during that year were earning an average $50-100 or less per month. lol I mean average people... okay, not heart surgeons or bank managers or wallstreet CEOs. ;)

So everything is just relatively the same to cost of the watch and salary of those days and today's.

I saw this once before. I think it was in Moses' pocket when he unveiled the Ten Commandments.

Interesting to see a Sub costing more than a Daytona in 86. My old AD told me back in the 80s he could not give then away.

Bought my first stainless steel GMT in 1969 for $147. New in the box. Sold it 10 years later in need of service and with a cracked crystal for $500. Times have changed

I just read that a car in 1980 for $13000 would be like paying $33000 now. My fathers DD rect. is around $7000 new in 1980. I wonder if that was a good price for a new one then. He always said he got a good deal.

Even back then they'd say there's a 10% increase coming better buy now.
