Iphone 5S
So I seem to really like the upgrades and the IOS 7 seems pretty awesome... Any thoughts who will be picking one up on Sept 20th? I know I will.
I Currently have an Iphone4s and am having some major battery problems on it currently, so no matter what I need a new phone |

I know I'm the TRF iphone heckler but I'm telling you, the new Droid Maxx has 48 hours of battery life including normal use... just sayin'

I am trying to hang on for another generation but my 4S battery is lagging as well.
I MAY join you after any initial bugs have been worked out.

Marc have you tried the new Droid Maxx? Just curious, I originally jumped on the droid bandwagon back when the Droid X was released with Verizon (I was sick of AT&T) and just didn't enjoy the way the touchscreen worked. Not sure if all the droids now compare to the smoothness of the Iphone touchscreen but that was a major issue when I used a lot of the droid phones.

Just got a 5 a few months ago, because I dropped my 4 and it shattered, so I won't be upgrading again for a little while.

Underwhelmed by the newly announced iPhone. I prefer a larger screen. Galaxy note 3 is on my radar when it comes out.

I have a simple HTC Inc 4G, and it has been a fantastic phone. The battery last two full days, with 10% remaining when I plug it in to recharge. Wrapped in an Otterbox Commuter case, it has withstood hundreds of drops without a hiccup. I am a power user, so there are too many things to mention in this post, but believe me when I say, it is a workhorse I will use it until it dies a satisfying death: old age. It will just die in its sleep one night, then it will move to the next life; poetic but true. We should all go that way

Personally I don't prefer phablets but don't begrudge those that do. The large bezels on the iPhone 5 make it look smaller than it really is, conversely, the small bezels on the Galaxy S3 and 4 make them look larger, but have no wasted space, it's all screen, actual size difference is minimal. A Galaxy S4 compared to an iPhone 5 could not be considered large. Because your response referenced the S4 I thought I would show the difference, here is an iPhone 5 on top of a Galaxy S3 (The Galaxy S4 is even smaller but with a larger screen), hardly a tablet under the iPhone.

It just doesn't seem like Apple added enough new functionality to make many people want to upgrade. I'm gonna skip this one.

Looks like almost a total redesign. They should have called it the Iphone six. This is MILES ahead of the 5. This was not an incremental update. Not too happy with the fingerprint scanner, but if it is only stored on the phone and not transmitted all over kingdom come, I'll be OK with that.
Not perfect, but still the best thing out there. If I want something bigger, I'll get an Ipad mini. IMHO, I bet that will be the next Iphone. A hybrid between the Iphone and the Ipad mini. Just put a cell on the Ipad mini and voila. Personally, I wish Motorola would just make a modern version of the Startac flip phone. This is getting out of control. Samsung.. like putting a billboard up to your head. Enjoy those droids people: |

If it pleases Apple devotees, then it certainly has fulfilled at least part of its mission. As for Samsung being like putting a billboard up to one's head, that's hardly an accurate description. My S3 has a nice large screen, which pleases me, because I use mine more as a small tablet than a cellphone, plus it fits nicely in my pocket. When I do use the phone, it's not cumbersome at all and besides, in almost all the situation when I'm actually using the phone, I either use the speakerphone, a Bluetooth headset, or the Bluetooth link in my car. Only rarely do I have to put the phone to my ear. And yes, I do enjoy my 'droid. It's almost infinitely configurable. I don't need iTunes to put music on my phone. I can put up to a 64GB micro SD card in the phone and load up music to my heart's content from my computer. I currently use a 32GB card loaded up with 23GBs of music. It also has a removable and replaceable battery. So, enjoy your iPhone.

SO......I have a Droid Razr which I love, however after owning a slew of large phones I've simply grown tired of having to look like a fool using a holster/case to hold my gigantic phone. The S4/S3/Razr Maxx/ etc are not comfortable in your pocket unless you exclusively wear hammer pants. It is reported that the 5s is the last phone that Jobs had any hand in. If thats so, then maybe I will have to give it a whirl as I can only imagine what a mess the iPhone 6 could be with Tim Cook at the helm......

From a hardware perspective I'm again disappointed with what Apple has come out with for the 5S. I was hoping for a bigger screen that will compete with HTC One and the Galaxy 4S.
I've decided to jump ship and head on over to the Android. Most likely the 4S. Would have stuck with Apple if they drastically up the screen size. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I'm a little underwhelmed with the announcement.
I think Apple have possibly lost their way. It's a little boring. I love my iPhone 5 but the new ones don't seem to have progressed enough with new features to make me change. I think i'll be patient and see what the iPhone 6 has to offer next year. Apple launches of the past made their new products irresistible and that you couldn't live without... What happened? |

Yup, Next year there might be the iphone6 with a larger 6 inches of screen. It's obvious that is how Steve Cook is going to introduce the iphone 6 during their launch... He is going to brag about the newer larger "6" inches of display screen for the iphone "6".
