Well it finally happened

My submariner was noticed by the kid behind the counter at the pizza store. I walked in & ordered 2 slices & while I was waiting he says to me "That's a beautiful rolex you have there". I've never had anyone notice it. Needless to say I said thank you & left there feeling good.

Subs are prob the most common Rolex worn, but still rare and takes a bit of knowledge to spot... Nice!

That doesn't surprise me - actually the younger generation is very aware of Rolex because they are very brand conscious and many of the rap "artists" wear the brand and it is therefore associated with success for them.

Yes and no; it's amazing how many younger people have no interest in watches of any kind, probably because of smartphones...

I agree with this. I have an aquaintnence that kind of made fun if the fact that I was wearing an Omega and that I like watches. This was about a year or so ago, and said that people are relying on their phones, tablets and computers for time and that watches wasn't a necessity anymore. I rarely see anyone wearing a nice watch, if one at all.

Nice! It happens maybe about once every other year for me.

Just a weekend or so ago, I think someone wanted to say something about mine, as he had a nice TT DJ on.. he couldn't take his eyes off my 14060 for a few mins.

Great story, I just had an incident 3 weeks ago while Holly was shopping for a new car. The sales manager came over to us and said he'd take my "Oyster" as a down payment...

Yeah, I've noticed my DJ always gets at least a pointed look at jewelry stores and car dealerships...

A guy noticed my GMT IIC the other day while at the a brew pub. He himself was wearing a Submariner which he has had for about 15 years. We chatted for a while about watches and then both went our seperate way.

love the compliments - even better when they come at very unexpected times. Like at a pizza shop haha :)

I just had lunch with a few buddies from back in college. One guy sits next to me, first thing I notice is his TT Yachtmaster. I showed him my '56 Oyster Precision on a nice croc strap. The other two looked at us like 'what are these two on about?'
