The Green Tag

I was just wondering if I should have been able to keep the green tag that is attached to the watch with the chronometer tag. I've noticed alot of pictures
with this tag. I did not get to keep mine and I did ask. I noticed on Mike's post
of his new COSC Sub that he had the tag. And he got his basically from the same dealer I did. Go figure.
Thanks for ya'll's input.

The green Swimpruf tag usually has the bar code on it.. Some Dealers use this for inventory control..

My feeling is - It's a bar code....scan it and give it to the customer if they want it !!

I would not have left the store without it! What's up with these AD's and the BS they try to pull? Engraving, no original warranty card/paper and now no green tag? HMMMMMMMM?

Yeah, you should get the tag along with everything else that comes with the watch. I'd insist on it.

More AD madness. Yes, you should be able to keep it. Did they require you to let them engrave your name on the back, too?

Yes, you should have gotten to keep the green tag. I got mine.

The green-tag carries the bar-code, the watch-serial number, the braclet number, and the model number.

I have no idea what the heck the AD would need to keep this for. Any information on it would have/should have been written down on the final bill-off sale!!! This would then be placed into inventory.

I believe the reason the AD's these day's don't give this stuff out to customer's is because there is after-market demand for these "sweetener's".

Anything by Rolex is pretty much a collectible. From the watch-boxes, to the booklets, right on down to that little green ID tag and the red chronometer tag. Heck, even the little plastic bezel protector for your watch is worth $20!!!!!!

That huge MSRP you paid for your watch includes all these "sweetener's". I believe the sweetener's account for at least $200 on the MSRP!!! Part of buying a Rolex is getting the goody-bag full of this stuff.

Check out www.qualitytyme.com. They specialize in selling all of these "sweetner's". Some of their prices are astounding!!!!

Listen, if it's like some people have said here, that the AD does keep the tag for inventory purposes, then they surely still have it, and they owe you the right to give it to you. Let the lazy AD write it into their books.

If I were you, I'd give them a call first and talk to them on the phone. If that doesn't work, call the nearest RSC to your town/city, ask to talk to someone in "after-sales" support, and give them your story. They'll fix it.

Some here may say that I'm going overboard with my rant here, but let me put it into perspective for you. Say you just spent $250,000 for a brand new Ferrari from a Ferrari AD. Would you let the dealer then pry off the VIN from the inside door panel to keep in their inventory books?????????

Make the call if it bother's you (which it sounds like it does) and let us know how it turns out.

Good luck

Not that the green tag is important, but it sure is nice to get the FULL package when you buy a Rolex. Probably, your AD threw the tag in the bin, but nevertheless I would phone him and ask if he still has it. But you can also buy the tags online, but they would be blank.

Can I suggest you edit that photo to eliminate some of the serial number as fraudsters will use it to either put it on a fake or list a watch for sale using that serial number, or insurance fraud

They gave me mine but peeled the pricetag off for their records presumably. It still has the barcode on the other side..

Both my wife and I got ours with the watches. Not really any use to the dealer.
