aluminum....for cost and, if you believe the rumors, rolex can't get a ceramic red that they're happy with, anyway.

What complete and utter rubbish made as cheap as possible, now Rolex used the aluminium inserts for decades but now latest fashion a very overpriced IMHO slither of ceramic.Yes with Tudor they do use a top chronometer grade ETA movement that is 100% in-house made.ETA make 5 grades in most of there movement line up, and cost wise in movement production would doubt if a lot of difference between the two.Plus the fact that ETA movements have powered many high end brands for decades plus the fact they are the biggest manufacture of Swiss mechanical movements. The even in the Tudor line god forbid they use a ceramic insert on the Pelagos just like the Rolex ceramic, myself personally give me a aluminium insert anyday

I'd be willing to bet that production cost of a Tudor Pelagos is comparable to a Rolex Subc.

No. It's not a rolex. It's a tudor. Rolf.

But at circa 4k$, I'd say your in small company of people that categorize that as cheap.
