Bezel moves on its own

This is strange. My submariner bezel is moving round on its own. It is only one or two clicks but it never done it before. This is when it is worn. The watch was serviced last year.

Anyone has this themselves?

Possibly the spring inside the bezel is worn out. That happened with my sea-dweller. Not a big deal to fix, the spring is very inexpensive.

It was only serviced last June and had a new bezel.

Hmm...Bring it back to the service center. I still think that something wore out with the spring, maybe it was bent, or part snapped off.

The spring has a curvature, and maybe the curve has become weak so that it does not catch the bezel clicks every time.

It's an easily solved issue and should be able to be fixed while you wait at the AD.

Unfortunately, it would mean sending it off back to Rolex (in London). No work is done at the AD. It makes a click everytime when I go straight from the 12 o' clock position to the next click over.

I don't want to take it in and find I need to spend more money. The last service was £550. Would the spring be part of the new bezel one year guarantee?

Surely the spring would have been replaced with the bezel (especially if it is worn).

I believe Ed is refering to the Ouija Board, since your bezel was moving on it's own.

Nope. The RSC kept all replaced parts. The old dial was covered in spider cracks. They were worried that the dial would break up and they would not guarantee there work. I would have rather have risked the old dial but didn't give me any choice. I wasn't happy with that as the new dial was £230.

Yes, the black bezel has been replaced. The AD said they replaced the bezel (it looked new at the time). It doesn't move round all the time. It has moved round 3 times (put it back to 12 each time) in the last 6 hours. Would a broken spring make it move all the time?

Yes it will move because the spring should keep it in place.

Just visit a watchmaker and let him look at it, the spring is just a few minutes
to replace.

I agree with Jocke. It's just a click spring and they're $10 from an AD.

As has been said, it's most likely that the end of this wire spring is broken and allowing the bezel to move about..
