I have a Sub 116610 LN from January of this year and never out of the box. I purchased it from an AD. I was using another watch that I just sold and my question is this:
Can I get change my watch for a used 16610 older and able to put in my pocket a couple thousand dollars? It will be wise to do this or is it better to keep it and use it and enjoy.
They say friends?

First cannot understand anyone buying a watch and not wearing it and you can do whatever you like regarding changing it its your watch.Myself not a big fan of any ceramic insert watches,but it would be best to sell your used ceramic sub then buy a 16610.Now whether you would pocket a couple of thousand dollars doubtful but that's depending on age and price of the 16610 you buy.

I do not think that is more doubtful. How much do you think it's worth a scrambled 116610 from January 2013 that comes from an authorized Rolex dealer and that I'm the first and only owner and how you think it's worth a 16610 M or V? Not to mention the oldest.

If things get better next month, buy what you like then. Watches are not going anywhere.

There will always be an abundance of Subs on the market. Go to any gathering of middle class guys on a Fri or Sat and you will see that every third or fourth guy has one on. I say dump it for now and buy another when things are looking up.

Nice to do this business if you can get for me a 16610 series M or V at $ 3,500.
What else can be worth ( almost 7v years))a watch so old that it must need a RSC service ( $ 800 more o less) and is a model that is visually so small on the wrist that looks like the watches that were using my grandfather. And I am 70 years old.

Never worn..even though technically it's "used" its bnib...they come up here frequently in that condition so that should give you an idea of the market value. $2k in pocket with a newer M or V 16610 might be a bit of a stretch though...maybe doable if you get good value out of yours and a good deal on the replacement.

What is the price spread between a used 16610 and he sub C used, both in same condition? Just curious.

1700 price difference is pretty damn good for old style vs new. Would think it would be more.

I'd expect a 2500-3000 price difference on the used market
