A Patek Aquanaut or a Yachtmaster II? Both being of comparable cost.

Neither. That's me though.
The ym2 is my least favorite Rolex. I'd rather have a DLC'd GMT2 SANR than a ym2. The PP I've worn, thought i'd like it, but didn't. The tropical straps are very underwhelming as is the dial. The nautilus is a different story but still not something I really desire. The VC Overseas is more my taste

If your wrist can handle it I would go with the YMII, my wrist IMO is too small. While I prefer other Rolex models if it is an explicit choice between the two that's what I would pick, especially as I'm not a big fan of the aquanaut on a bracelet. Now if your looking at a nautilus or willing to consider that, that's a different story.

Aquanaut all the way because the Yachtmaster II has never appealed to me. The Aquanaut is just so subtle and nice.

Don't really care for either. Patek by default.

Aquanaut. Discrete, classy and just sporty enough.

Of the two I'd prefer the Yachtmaster II

Either watch would be fine by me...as I like most all the watches out there.....unless we are talking about counterfeit/look alike watches!!!

Aquanaut's design lends itself to two unique factors. One is of course the simplistic yet uncommon design, the other is contributed by the same design but as a factor of its price point in a 'Are you kidding me, that watch can't be worth that much!!!!'
YM II seems more fitting to its price point to most people. If I were to decide between the two I would consider if I already have a watch/watches in similar styled (Precious metal bracelet, size etc.) as the YM II and if I do I would get the Aquanaut for a change. Personally if cost is not taken into consideration I would get a Nautilus instead without even considering Aquanaut or YM II! Nautilus is on a whole other level in elegance and design. |

They are totally different watches. Which one do you prefer?
My pick would be Aquanaut by the way. |

I like the YM-II but it's too big for my wrists, I'd go with the Aquanaut on this one.

Either would be a great choice. However I tend to like watches that don't wear so big nor so heavy. The Aquanaut at 40mm is big enough to see, but yet it's so light you'll barely realize your wearing a watch. That is until you need to check the time or you just want to look or stare at it.

The Aquanaut would be my choice.

Patek.
See no point for the average man sporting a YM2.

Easy for me. I would get the YM hands down, no question. To me, that is not what I think of when I think of Patek.

For me, the Aquanaut, but reluctantly. The YMII is colorful, but a bit over the top for my taste. The PP is lower profile, but not crazy about the design, despite its impeccable mechanicals.

Not a fan of most Patek watches especially the Aquanaut, not a huge fan of the YM11 but given the choice would choose the YM.
