discount from California AD
HI all
ready to buy my first Rolex, a SS datejust. I've been to couple of AD around SF bay area, best discount I got is around 10%, plus tax. Can someone recommend an AD that I can get better discount, willing to travel a bit. Thx in advance. |

Been out of the game awhile but recent posts would indicate at least 15% minimum even on ss sports. I'm sure someone will chime in with a good referral. There is a lot of experience on this forum.

Stay away from the AD's in the Bay Area, and start calling some AD's in Modesto, Stockton & Sacramento where the disposable income is a lot less. But I have to say, buying from one of the sellers mentioned above is a wise choice. Also, I'm not sure where you live, but member Jacek has a shop in SF where he has a lot of pre-owned pieces.

If you know what you want, contact one of the sellers and let them see what they can do.

Nothing wrong with buying from and AD. Especially if it's a gift! I recently just had my 10th anniversary and my wife bought me a New. GMT 2c. She got it from a local AD. She wasn't completely sure it was the exact watch I wanted. I was torn between it and the BLNR for a while so they didn't fill out paper work. I went in next day to get it sized and the BLNR was there. I liked the fact the gave me the option to exchange. It took me a while to decide as I was trying on for an hour. For a big occasion I would recommend an AD any day. If your flipping watches like some people that's different or if your on your 3rd, 4th watch and doesn't really mean that much to anymore ok. I hope I'm there someday. Anytime someone asks a question about an AD you people chime in with "The Big 3" sellers here! I sometimes feel like Im at a car lot with you people pushing sellers from this site constantly. This is a forum not watch selling site as the mods have mentioned in the past. If you Rolex lovers didn't know Rolex Frowns upon these sales! They have taken away accounts for selling to these people. I wish there was NO discount at all on Rolex's.

I went to three ADs here in San Francisco and ended up buying BNIB from DavidSW. You cannot beat his prices, quality and customer service. The guy is just AMAZING.

It's tough to catch a break in the bay area. There are a lot of AD's, but there's also a lot of $$ in the bay. SS models are not discounted much. Ben Bridge in SJ did not offer SS
discount. I got mine at DAvidson and Licht with a 10% and free watch winder. U can probably save on tax if u have a buddy out of state who can buy for U. |

As it is a gift for a someone special, buying brand new from an AD if good, and 10% off a DJ is a decent discount. I'd do it just for the peace of mind. On a purchase of several thousand dollars, how much is that worth?

TRF is not a personal shopping service...
