Phil Mickelson on Golf Channel w Plat Daytona

It looks like Phil is wearing the Plat Daytona on Golf Channel's Morning Drive this morning. I'll try to get pics. It looks great on wrist!

Phil is actual right handed, but just plays gold left handed! So, wore it on his left land.

And I only saw him on a few commercials. He was definitely wearing a Daytona, and it looked like a platinum one, but I have no verification.

In his This Is SportsCenter ad, he wears the platinum Day Date, and I have seen him in the Rose Gold Sky Dweller before, so when he goes with a sport watch, it is always going super high end.

If I was Phil, Id swap out the brown bezel for the black and repaint the numbers in platinum.

KPMG must pay him a lot, because that hat really looks out of place.

I'm sure KPMG pays a pretty penny for that head space.

Love Phil super cool guy.

Was at a PGA event and walked with him through a couple different holes. He chatted with me several times while he walked to play his next shot. Very cool guy very funny it was a huge thrill. Great Rolex Ambassador IMHO :)

He played at ASU with a very close friend of mine, they talk all the time, belong to the same golf club, etc. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a half dozen times, very nice and engaging and loves his watches...

The 50th Daytona would've been a great one to wear for the show...but a WG on a strap works fine, too.

One of the nicest guy's on the tour. Him and Miguel Angel Jiménez are my favorites.

You got to love a guy like Jimenez.

I am not sure he is as popular with his fellow tour members as he is with the US crowds in particular. Certainly a talent on the course, other than Seve I am not sure I have ever seen someone with more craft and courage with a wedge. Certainly has good taste in watches.

Actually he is, he has taken a mentor to role to many of the newer/younger players like Dustin Johnson, Keegan Bradley, Ricky Fowler, Jason Dufner, Kyle Stanley, Kevin Streelman and others..

In fact a few years ago people may remember Kyle Stanley lost an 8 shot lead at Torrey Pines and then came back the next week and won in Phoenix trailing by 8 in the last round. I know 1st hand that Phil pulled Stanley aside before the Phoenix tournament and gave him a serious pep talked and played a practice round with him and lo and behold he won his first tour event.

I'd heard that too about Phil, the rumor in the clubhouse being that his public persona is maybe not so genuine, that he's not the same guy the public thinks he is or that his public image comes off as calculated. I don't think he hangs out that much with the other tour members either. Don't know how true any of this is.

Personally I like him. He always seems to be available for autographs and interviews, he's a dedicated family man, and his charity work is pretty impressive.

He's got to be popular here though, Remember when he hit that shot into the gallery and broke a guy's watch, went over to the guy, peeled off $200 and gave it to him? Of course, it would have been cooler if he took his own Rolex off and handed it to the guy. Cooler still if it he did that and it had been me. But it did make me wonder if Rolex would have been a little displeased or appreciated the publicity. That incident did get played up in the media pretty good.
