214270 for 14060m?

Should I? I have been thinking this through for a week but still no firm decision.

I have owned the 14060 twice (tritium and superluminova versions) but flipped them for other pursuits but I have always found myself drawn back to this Submariner.

I know I would be giving up the better bracelet and paraflex 3132 movement in the 214270 Explorer but the proportions of the dial and the tiny crown bothers me a little. The 114060 seems like the best of both worlds but I am still not a fan of the square lugs nor the ceramic bezel.

Talk me in or out of making the move back to the Sub ND.

Not a fan of the 214270 Explorer:) Go for the 14060.

Of the two, 14060 would be my first choice. It's a fine choice...Good luck.

Very tough choice !!
I agree on your 114060 stance, winner is 14060m between thoz 2 subs
Personnaly i have an explorer 1016 and a 5513, next week ill receive a 14060m 2004 and im very excited !
My friend you need both !
Explorer is classier and the sub is a daily wearer

Wow, that is a tough decision, impossible for me really. I have both, love them both, are keepers in my collection.
The Exp I wears a bit bigger than 39mm, mostly because of the thinner smooth bezel. That Sub is THE Sub, you've got to know that, after two flips!
The Explorer is a bit more versatile, more discreet, as durable as you need, and none of this is as decisive one way or the other as you need. Sorry.

Exp 1. Absolutely. No question.

But I am recently loving the 114060.

Take away the bubble and to me, the watch is symmetrically perfect.

I find the 14060 too small.

I mean small. It wears smaller.

I've got a 16710 and it wears significantly smaller.

Might be the same width, but the maxi case, dial, and hands/markers give the 114060 a bigger presence. In comparison the 14060 does look and wear smaller.

You had it twice and still lusting after it.....it's destiny man, get the Sub back. And tiny crowns seem to irk the hell out of me for some reason too, a huge reason why I don't like the Exp 2, they made the watch bigger but left that tiny crown. I know it doesn't matter function wise, but it's the little things....

If you've gotten rid of two and still want one, there's your answer. The 14060 is a classic, IMHO. As for the Exp. I, I'd have a tougher time giving up a 114270 than your 214270, since as you point out, the proportions to me are a bit off.

As it stands, no question, do the trade and keep the Sub this time.

Go for the sub. And get the better-proportioned 36mm Explorer 114270 later if you feel any remorse.

Yeah, I'm another that says go for the sub, especially seeing as you've identified the dial proportions and the crown size on the Explorer as bugbears of yours.

Just try to hang on to it this time!
