Advice needed for a 1982 DJ..to buy or stay off?
Morning folks, need some advice on the above-mentioned watch that has been in existence since 1982. Owner is asking for S$3000 which is approx USD2100. It has never been serviced so I reckon that it will take another S$1000 to overhaul this baby. Should I take the plunge or hunt for greener pastures? |

I also think it's a bit much....considering you still have to service it. If you really want it, why not negotiate a lower price based on the need for service?

Nice watch. Cheaper than a brand new one. you have to decide what its worth to you.

Nice but to much. Counter-offer $1500. USD, see if he will take that because of no service history.

First of all, that DJ and the whole package look great! From the little I can tell from the pics, the bracelet does not seem to be stretched. Had it been stretched, it would look differently they way it is lying. Had it been serviced recently, IMHO the price would have been rigth. But as you state, you will have to spend about 500 US $ on having it serviced. So try to get the price down with that negotiation argument.
Best of luck!
