Incoming BLNR:-)

I'll need to wait however.
My AD has one, and said he could have sold it 10 times this week. But he keeps it locked away in the safe. He let me try it on, and told me the list price. We bought some other stuff there and as we were walking out he offered us a discount on it. This makes it very attractive.

Now, if they could have sold it 10 times over, why offer it to me at a discount? For that matter why offer to sell it to me over the 10 others that had asked him for one?
Question is:
Do ad's typically pick and choose who gets what?
Even thought it benefits me, it seems like BS that these are that much in demand. Are they????
Any opinions would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance.

either he's (glass half full) trying to keep a regular customer happy and addicted, or he's (glass half empty) just a shady used car salesman.

Doesn't really matter...if you want it, he's obviously wanting to sell it. If the number you're willing to pay matches what he's selling it for, snatch it up.

If he's an AD then buy it. He's just trying to make the watch sound more attractive by saying he could have sold it "10 times this week." In reality maybe 10 people looked at it and didn't end up buying it. So to boost year end sales maybe he's trying to get you to buy it even at at discount. It has the Rolex guarantee, so you can't go wrong

If he could have sold it, he would have, and he wouldn't be offering you a discount.

Doesn't really matter either way whether or not it is in demand, if you like it, and you can get a discount, go for it.

Maybe he saw something special in you. .....just kidding.....AD's are usually full of .......blnr is a great watch in high demand because of looks/newness to the market but availability most likely a function of where Ad's are located (Beverly Hills sold out- Small town USA two in the case).

This is what I was thinking, originally.

Not exactly what I was thinking, since he told us that they are the biggest AD in s.e. USA. I guess it's possible.

Yes, very true and no, it doesn't matter to me. Going to get it

This is my opinion. It was the owner (of the AD) that offered this price. He just got done with an hour speech about why they couldn't offer any discounts, Rolex will pull the dealership. In fact they lost another high end brand watch that they screwed up by giving discounts. Hummmmm

Doesn't really matter either way whether or not it is in demand, if you like it, and you can get a discount, go for it.
Nope, I like your attitude

This makes total sense.

I do want it, the price is unbeatable. So, pics will follow and I'll thank my lucky stars that I was the chosen one.
Thanks for all advice, from the best forum.
Sincerely,
Rob

Demand depends on market and availability. If you can, get it at discount or head over to the classified section and find one there.

Great decision. Many congratulations. I'm not generally a GMT fan, but the BLNR has changed my mind somewhat!

It's the usual hose-n-close that many Authorized Dealers employ as most prospective Rolex buyers are not TRF members and it works for them. Selling the watch 10x over sounds like a foothold for you to use when explaining the purchase to your wife.

Rolex dealers have quotas to meet and loan payments to make on the financing of their inventory; if he could have sold the watch earlier, he would have.

Nonetheless, all the reason to purchase it. I have my name on a bruiser/batman as well and with Rolex USA and Rolex CH closed all of December, there is no ETA on when I will see one.

Congrats. Take any discount you can get on the BLNR. Haven't seen them available anywhere here in NYC.

I was just in NYC (Rolex on 5th Ave between 52nd and 53rd...a couple blocks from from Central Park) a few days ago. I had my BLNR on while I was checking out some new stuff. The gent helping me remarks he could sell 40 BLNR's per week if he could get his hands on them. He also said that he had a waiting list all the way through april for them. He them noticed mine and told me I was lucky to have already found one.

Anyway, I would say if you can get one at anywhere near 10% below the standard US retail price of $8950, go for it. They will be VERY popular for a half a year to come until supply starts to catch up with demand. JMHO.

Not nearly 10%, more like 5%.

The BLNR is hot right now so demand will be high. Rolex usually sends their new watches to AD's sparingly so as to keep interest in them.
