Rolex GMT Master 2c running so slow it is going backwards.

Ok I bought the watch last week from my AD. They set it up etc.
Yesterday I noticed it was off by about 6 hours...but still ticking so I thought hmmm...must have stopped overnight (since I took it off while sleeping) and when I picked it up in the morning it started ticking again.

So I reset the time but the same thing happened again.
I figured it needed to be wound up so I did the following:

1. I set the watch to 8:00 am...wound it 40 rotations as stated in various forums.
Went for breakfast, and when I checked the watch at what at 9:30 am and it read 6:30 am

2. I set it at 10:25 am and took a picture with my gf's watch to show they are in synch so no mistakes. At noon my watch read 11:25 am

I took it to the AD and the technician is perplexed...at first said that it could be electro magnetism...but not after he heard the specifics.

I have left it with them for the weekend for tests.

Are you sure it's not a time machine? Sorry, I hate to hear that. Seems like it's under warranty still, so they should be able to fix it.

I think you can demand an exchange instead of a serviced watch since it new from AD?

Never heard of this kind of fault before, possible some gears not properly engaged.

Electro magnetism my ars# sounds possible mainspring or hands are lose on the hand stack as its impossible for any movement to run backward.

UPDATE:

Ok AD just called and said they could not replicate the problem. They did however change some part that they thought "could" be the cause. I did not really want the watch altered, and would have preferred just get it back as is. Now I can't be sure if it was flawed or if it was just a winding issue.

I agree. I am not comfortable with paying so much for a watch that has now been "repaired". I mentioned this to the AD and they said they could not take the watch back as they would have to sell it as pre-owned. Apparently they cannot send it back to Rolex and get it replaced?

Boy, that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...

I called Rolex Canada to inquire about what should happen in my situation. They explained that repairing the watch would be standard procedure. I then asked for confirmation that the technician at my AD is indeed a certified Rolex technician, which they confirmed he is and that they are familiar with him. They were quite accommodating actually. I guess I am satisfied with the outcome...although I still don't know what the heck was wrong with the watch... :)

I would have returned it and/or exchange it.

Happened to me with a brand new toyota. The steering shaft was leaking new. They had the car taken apart at the dealer. I said: I want a new car. I have not even driven the car 10 miles and the front end has been taken apart.

Same with the watch.

I had the sane problem with my second SS GMT II C. The grey I bought it from new were useless and very rude. They refused to replace the watch even though I had owned it for 6 days and they had a nother one right there sitting in front of me.

They repaired it. I sold it, took a lost and will never do business with them ever again.

I took the watch off last night for bed and in the morning it was an hour behind...but ticking. I did not wear it much during the day, so I guess it must have stopped shortly after I went to bed around ten...and then started ticking again when I put it on in the morning...around eleven...?

I have those tiny Bose speakers for my desktop computer (companion 5) . They are very nice considering how tiny they are and the fact that they produce proper surround sound.

When I first installed them, my desktop would not start and my watch was off... After going through the manual over turned out that the "Acoustimass module" was producing some magnetic field which interfered with the computer!! So I had to keep some specific distance between them.
