Design flaw, defect or normal wear?

So the diver extension on my DSSD gets progressively more scratched up by the inside of the adjustible bracelet. Is this common? what should I do?

meh, i flip girlfriends as often as i flip watches. and like my watches, there are a few in the rotation.

that's half the reason i see a therapist in the first place. at 40, you would think i would be able to settle down a bit.

not so much. :bang head:

then again, i am sort of living the dream sooooo

Up until recently, my DSSD was a daily wear for the past 5 years.

Mine shows the same kind of wear.

No big deal. Should be no difficulty to buff out at your next service.

My guess is that it's sort of an inevitable, luck of the draw, manufacturing tolerance variation thing, where some clasps cause such marks due to the glidelock mechanism and some dont. If you're not extending it out to where the marks are visible, then I suppose (if it was me) I wouldn't let it bother me.

Whenever two SS surfaces come in contact with each other and there is repeated movement, these types of marks are inevitable. I wouldn't let it impair your enjoyment of that beautiful DSSD.

You must be kidding.

Design flaw?

Defect?

It's like saying the bottom of my shoes get these weird marks when I walk in them and I'm not sure what to do.

Just remove the diver extension. It fits better without it.

I removed mine, and Mike is correct. It does fit better without it!

Personally I love these wear marks on my watches. I know they're my marks & makes the watch more personal to me.

You are way overthinking this. Yes, it is normal wear. As Mike said, remove the extesion if you are not using it (it will of course scratch the bracelet in a similar ways, but who cares?)

OCD and all, looks like I can breathe a little knowing I am not the only one with this.. guess its normal. I considered removing the extension, what stopped me is the thought that I would get these markings on the links instead.

Design flaw.

The glide lock causes the same issue on my sub.

Maybe they can come up with some other clasp style.
