Date change click
Hello friends,
I just welcomed home my brand new DSSD this morning. Love it. I just have a question regards the date change at 12 am. I think I heard the date change click at roughly 4 minutes past 12 am a while ago. Is that normal? |

Yes it is normal.
The mechanics of the date change can occur any time from a couple minutes before to a few minutes after midnight.

No big deal. It's just a question of what position the hands are pressed on. You can have it adjusted at the next service.

The watchmaker advances the watch until the date flips, then presses the hands on to the midnight position. If he advanced it too far, then it'll look like it flips after midnight.

I had to send my watch to RSC because the date wheel was sticking in between dates when changing but ever since it got back it clicks exactly when the second hand hits midnight. Guess I got lucky when they sent it back!

As others have said quite normal its mechanical and not electronic my main concern at the moment is that I can see the date has changed by morning. Now for me its far better to get a good nights sleep than watch the day or date change at midnight.
