The Magnum P.I. house in Honoulu is uo for sale.

Kinda sad. Worked on the series. I hope the new owners don't change anything.

Yes I have been inside and outside. However most of the indoor shots in "Robin's Nest" were done on a sound stage near the backside of Diamondhead. For example Higgin's office. Blew me away walking around the set how detailed they were. Higgin's Victoria Cross hanging on the wall and his model Bridge on the River Kwai on his desk.

There was always about a 12 foot chain link fence with green plastic covering so you could not look in surrounding the property. To keep people out and from distracting filming. The house is out near Waimanalo side. Kinda far from town.

Such memories. Makes me want to cry really. My good old days.

Gratuitous pics of me on the set of Magnum P.I. I am the young blonde cop in the background carrying papers. Screen shots from one of the episodes. We were not allowed on the set to use our real Honolulu Police badges and patches. So we brought our uniform pants and gunbelts and they gave us a dummy firearm and a shirt with a star type badge and a patch that said "Hawaii Police." The Police Chief at the time I believe would not allow it.

If you watch the new Hawaii Five-O they are all real HPD officers as extras with their all original uniforms on. The current Chief is one of my best pals from back in the day. Still chugging along loving his job and beloved by the troops.

I wonder if it comes with the car and the Dobermans... not to mention the girl that Thomas was "helping" in the water in the beginning of the show. I'll never forget that part of the show...

Tom, I have heard, that they have used a "prop" 16750 which was put on Selleck's wrist when shooting and then put back to the drawer when off-duty.

Have you ever seen that they handed Selleck over a specific watch?

Do you have any pics from the boathouse set by chance?

No, I never did see that. Back then I was a super broke ass new cop. I had a 10.00 plastic watch and could only dream of ever owning a Rolex. I was not a WIS

No, I have no pics of the boathouse. I have been on that very beach where the leopard bikini shot was.

No offense to you Tom or to any nostalgia-buff's but the estate is kind of tired IMHO, the value is in the location and the acreage but the place needs some updating. Vintage old-school Hawaiian estates may have their place but that's a lot of money for a very dated layout.

Yes, the house is in very bad shape but the place is probably the nicest one on the island.
I am sure that it will find a buyer for the asking price. And I hope that the new owner keeps the bulidings and renovates them - though I am afraid that the property will be halfed and totally new buildings will come.

No offense taken Marc. I found the place to be a bit run down the last time I was there. The location is beautiful but not very near anything. Quite a drive to get into Honolulu.

I remember watching that show as a kid and thinking how much I loved his watch...that his father left him...turns out it's a pepsi GMT...and so it began! Plus of course I had to own a Ferrari some day of course...that show molded my young mind!!

I even have the theme as my ring tone!

Interesting. Hope Robin Masters isn't selling it because he's fallen on hard times and now Magnum and Higgins are forced to move. That would be sad.

Just last week I saw a rerun of Magnum P.I. on TV and was thinking about how nice it would be to win the Powerball and buy that estate and move there. I figured the estate would cost 15 million so I was not too far off!!!
