Submariner L Serial - 1989

Dear Members,

I have a question for you.

A SS black submariner date, L serial (1989), would already be the 16610 model ?

Which one should be the right Oyster bracelet and end pieces for this watch ?
Would it be a 93150 bracelet

What about the clasp code, if any ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,

Mark Amorim.

Yes a 16610 and I have seen them with both 93150 and 96350 (non-fliplock clasp) Bracelets. My former Battalion Commander had one purchased when he was a company commander in Germany circa 1990 and it has the non-fliplock 96350. End pieces are 501B I think....

Rolex began the serial letter prefix in ~'87 with the R. The L was soon released and first seen in '88.

So, an L serial may be a 168000 or a 16610 with the only difference being the movement, 3035 or 3135.

They would have had the 93150 bracelet until about 1999 when the Sub Date got the 93250 bracelet while the Sub retained the 93150 until 2012.

Clasp codes can be found in our Reference Library.

Thank you, i think the 3035 is the movement of my 16760 "R" serial, which is very accurate and relaible. Which movement would you choose between both ? 3035 or 3135 ? Thanks.
