Rolex 6263

Hi,

I'm interested in buying a Daytona 6263 but it seems that there are quite some variations and I also have the impression that some of the For Sale 6263's I find on the web are not genuine.

Is there somewhere a good overview of the many variations in the parts (dials, bezels, pushers,...) and which of these parts belong together (for instance a Sigma dial and a MK5 bezel are probably not correct on the same watch?).

On the web this information seems very hard to find.
Maybe there are some good books ? which ones?

Or alternatively : are there thrustworthy and knowledgeable vintage dealers you can recommend? I live in Europe and don't mind traveling to other countries within Europe. For this kind of high-priced watches it's worthwhile traveling;)

Many thanks in advance!

Rolex 6263

Look at the sticky posted in this forum. It has a list of trusted vintage dealers on both continents. Good luck in your search!

Stefano Mazzariol's blog post about the many Daytona details and variants - http://stefanomazzariol.blogspot.sg/...%206263%2F6265.

In Europe you should not have any issues tracking down a 6263 from the vintage specialists.

I suggest The Patrizzi Pocket guide. It is a nice little reference and is really cheap. I came across mine in amazon and used it as a tool when purchasing my 6263 and then gave the book to a great friend. As I am sure you have heard many times..."Buy the seller and Purchase the best example you can afford)
Here is what the book looks like: http://www.opatrizzi.com/Publication...4&ProductID=32

HAPPY Hunting!

Best to buy the seller first unless you are capable as many very good fakes and frankens out there. M

Thanks for all your help!
I ordered the book.

Too bad that on Stefano's website not all pictures are showing...
