16520 bracelet
I have a 16520 w serial that comes on a 78390 bracelet. I am looking to replace it and all I can find for it is a 78390a. I realize it's for a later model but would like to know how later was it made? Any w serial made came on it. Is it okay to put it on one or is it like using a service dial?

A 78390A would be one with SEL.
If your 16520 case has the machined lip between the lugs to locate the SEL endlink, you can fit it just fine. No machined lip, no SEL.

No, it does not make it a "frankenwatch" which is a watch made from a box of parts intended to result in defrauding others to think it is original. Simply having later era parts on your watch is perfectly normal.... Rolex doesn't put 40 year old parts or bracelets on your watch at service time. Here is the machined lip which Rolex was putting on their cases well before releasing the SEL bracelets, so they knew they were eventually going to do so. The one on the right has a machined lip between the lugs to locate the SEL and the one on the left does not.
