My wife said it....

My love for Rolex is rubbing off on my wife. She was the first to notice the Rolex clock this weekend by the putting green at Pinehurst Resort, then on the way to dinner tonight she said, "if I got one (Rolex), I would want a bigger face like my Michael Kors watch." Now I'm just waiting on her to fully commit to wanting one and then I will look forward to shopping for her!

That's cool when our spouse shares our interest. My wife understood my fascination after getting her own Rolex.

Good luck,

Come on! really??
"If I got one" is a wife's way of giving you the go ahead to shop and buy!
She even told you the size she wants!
How long have you been married?

Haha.

I'm trying to think which Rolex is most "like a Micheal Kors" watch.

I'm so grateful my wife doesn't know anything about watches.

She has a TT Chrono Michael Kors watch. Which as someone said would be a Daytona. I'm not a Daytona fan, just my preference, don't kill me. I'm thinking a TT DJ2 with Arabic dial. Not even sure if they make one, just thinking as I type.

Give me some suggestions....

You should go visit an AD with her and let her try on what she wants. She might be quite surprised at how weighty a DD2 is compared to a Michael Kors watch. Or any Rolex kind of around that size. Those MKs watches are pretty light. She might opt for something smaller and lighter after getting hands on experience. May help narrow it down. Just my 2 cents.

Not a daytona fan myself but as far as Rolex goes it would be an option I guess.

I thought Daytona too at first but it doesn't have a "bigger face" like she mentioned.

Your suggesting of a TT DJII is good though. That would give the big face. Unless she needs the chronograph, which most people don't.

My wife didn't understand the Rolex bug until I had a link removed from my stainless Daytona for her to try on. Now she wears it everyday! I just have to keep her away from this forum. You people are a bad influence!

My wife has been browsing the Rolex website (uh-oh). Never showed an interest until recently .She likes the DJ with the flowers on the dial. I'll probably have to ante up with that one before I'm allowed to acquire another one for myself😒. What the heck, when she looks at Coach or Juicy Couture stuff I don't feel the need to jump on board . No fair!!!!! 😃

Just remember, a ladies perception of a big face may be different then a mans.
My wife wanted a watch with a "larger" face then a typical ladies watch and she decided on the Rolex Date, 34mm because the Datejust was too big at 36mm

Yes this is very important point. I remember the first time I bought my wife a watch... i didn't notice this point.. i got her a 34mm... and it was big on her wrist! heh.

the other thing later realized... she wears watch as accessory, just like a bracelet or ring. she's only wear one when wearing a dress for special occasions, has to match her dress, and must scream blingbling!

Uh oh!

Don't let her watch the Ellen show. She may end up wanting a gold Daytona!

Perfect! Time to set her up with her own TRF account and she can start researching Rolexes! Have you showed her the ladies YG / Plat DD yet?

PS- My Wife did not care about watches and now she has two Rolexes... I know the path you are one very well.

bought my girlfriend a 36mm Datejust fluted bezel silver dial. She loves it. I was shocked she didn't want anything with diamonds on it

Why do you even need her to commit? Just go buy one for her or you can go get MK and match her style

I always liked the fact that my wife likes Rolex and has a couple of her own. That is, until a few weeks ago when she texted me a photo of the platinum DD2 and said "I want this one."

I thought to myself, "shit."

It's not my wife it's my daughter that caught the bug (from me). I just purchased her first Rolex for Christmas and early high school graduation. I must admit I really enjoyed getting her first Rolex for her. SS Datejust white roman dial 36mm. I told her she can only pass it down to her children if she is blessed with any.

I'd let her pick out the on she likes. That way she will have exactly the one she wants and won't be wishing she had a different one than the one you picked out . Look at the 34mm oyster date.

My wife said it....

You know your wife better than we do. My wife is very picky when it comes to jewelry (so am I) so when making such a big purchase, we need to make sure the other party loves it.
I wanted to get her a Rolex for so long. She doesn't have small size wrists so I wanted to get her a 36mm DJ, but when she tried it she decided 31 is better on her wrist (she also got MK watches). The dial choice was very difficult and took us about a month and several AD visits to reach a decision. Good luck hunting.
