stolen?

Hi guys, been a member here for a while but not rely a poster.

I currently have a GMT master 2 that i love but the time has come to buy another.

im after a stainless daytona with a black dial, I have currently been on the waiting list at my AD for nearly 2 years.

this has made me look at online resellers/used dealers

my main concern is i know the rolex register is now closed to everyone apart from AD and was wondering how these people check the item they are selling is legit.

10 years ago i was burgled and my tag, along with box was taken. so i know a owners card and box have little relevence to the item being legit.

any advise would be great, I have no issue with paying over list to get a watch now but i want to make sure im not going to loose it in 5 yrears time when it goes for a service

Thanks guys

if you buy the seller you generally don't really have to worry about a situation like that.
Just make sure you do your research on the seller and you should be good to go =).

It's really all about buying the seller. As long as references check out you should be ok. If you think something is sketchy, just don't do it.... I'm sure there are some trusted UK sellers on here.

Hi guys.

Its not about trusting the seller, i was just thinking somebody could have sold them a stolen watch in the box and they would never know, nor would the buyer untill it came time to visit the service center.

surely they must have a way of checking?

im thinking i might be better to wait and get it from my AD brand new, that way i can be sure.

I think you are over thinking way outside the box for anything like that to happen, if it does then it must be extremely rare.

My AD in Flemington, NJ (Roman Jewelers) had a few Black Dialed SS Daytona's in stock this weekend. Seems that more are coming into the market.

However, I pretty much buy exclusively on TRF nowadays. Great trusted sellers and prices.

The only way to be 100% sure is to buy a new one at an AD or from an experienced seller here.
You should be able to get one for MSRP now. Waiting lists seem to be over

Buy it from a trusted seller on newturfers.com or here and take out insurance so you are covered even if RSC tell you its stolen.

You sure they haven't forgotten about you? There are two ADs in my relatively small city - both have that watch in their cases.
