Incoming!! - This one is special

Well, to me at least. I have been attracted to this piece ever since I laid my eyes on a real life example. And have been hunting for a long time at the right price and condition. By stroke of luck, the opportunity presents itself for me to acquire it, I cannot refuse. So much for "No more new watches this year" promise. I don't even believe myself anymore.

As usual, pics to follow later.

Some of you guys already know what it is. As for the rest, a hint : It's Gold. And it's awesome.

Thanks guys for your patience.

So here you go, it's the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Openworks 15305OR in Rose Gold.

The watch is housed in a 39mm rose gold case with all the typically outstanding AP finishing while also features the sophisticatedly crafted 3129 openworks movement with antracite finished bridges and a gold rotor. For a movement junkie like myself, I just love everything about the watch. It also plays remarkably well with surrounding light and despite it's 39mm size and 9.28mm thickness, it has remarkable wrist presence.

According to AP product literature for this watch, the process of skeletonising a movement calls for preserving it's structure so as to maintain it's precision and its reliability; and this is accompanied by extremely meticulous decorative work that calls for considerable dexterity and experience. I cannot agree more, as the entire watch is of course hand made and under a loupe, one can see the sophisticated workmanship involved. It's also a limited production model, meaning it's quite hard to find.

Here's some more wrist shots and a shot of the back display movement.

Only drawback I can think of, it doesn't have a date but I think I can get use to it. Hope to do a more detailed review and DSLR shots soon!

By the way, I changed the original brown strap to a black strap and I think it looks better and contrast better.

With all that openworks, who's looking at the date? If it really bugs you, upgrade to the platinum 40th 15202.
