What should I get next?
For those of you that purchased a SubC or Sub as your first Rolex, which watch did you purchase next? A few months ago at the AD when I bought my first Rolex, I tried on several models but just fell head over heels over the SubC. Which watch gave you guys that feeling for a second time?

First a Daytona then a SubC within a month. These two go well together.

First for me was an ExpII Polar and second was the GMT IIc Blnr. Absolutely love them both. I'm thinking sub for my next one.

After doubting to buy a SubC ND or a SD I bought the SubC ND as my first Rolex and a year later I also bought a SD.

Ceramic Sub Date first.
Explorer II 16570 second - slimmer profile, stealthier, works with a suit and for sport / leisure. |

A second timezone reference, to me, always made a perfect yin to a diver's yang. Either a GMT or EXP II.

Well, I've had the 16610, 114060, 16600, 116610, and 116610LV, but I don't think there's going to be any to get a Rolex diver off my wrist for a long time. If I ever add to the stable instead of trading, I think it would have to be something markedly different. A Day-Date or a Royal Oak are the only watches that I could see myself wearing over my LV if my LV was sitting in the watch box. It'll be a long time before I have those kind of funds on hand without trading.

I think the corner stones of a collection should be premised on a daytona, classic SD, GMT with color in pepsi/coke or lv and then to finish it off with a Polar Explorer!

I bought my first Rolex (a 5513 Sub) in 1985. Then I bought my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th over the past two months. My recent acquisitions are: a SubC No Date, a 36mm TT DJ, a 42mm polar Exp II, a 36mm YG President Day Date, and a TT SubC w/sunburst blue. They all spend equal time on my wrist now. But in six months, I bet it'll be the bluesy that gets the most wear, and the Day Date a close second.

Actually, I think you need to answer two questions - do you want sport or dress, and how much do you want to spend. Those answers will point you in the right direction.

I love my sub as a sports watch, maybe something a bit dressier? Money's not really the issue because I don't mind waiting for the right time and right watch
