trade 114060 for 116600?

Anyone thinking about flipping 114060 for new 116600?

Pluses: No cyclops, classic look, more proportionate lugs, has that old Sub feel, return to original tool watch matte dial; fliplock extension link; helium valve.

Minuses: big price jump, odd minute graduation from 16 to 60 , maybe too thick? (until we check it in the metal). Doesn't have lacquer dial (yes I'm conflicted on this one), AND, it doesn't say "Submariner" on the dial, Sub wears awesome: comfortable, enough presence without being obtrusive

Right now, I'm sticking with Sub

see this too: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=344101

Nope. Although I have a 116610LN, I will stick with the Sub. The minuses you list are among the reasons I will keep mine ... plus, I like the cyclops and the chunky lugs.

Initially, I really wanted to trade my 114060 for the 116600, but the more I think about it, the more I want to keep my Sub. Yes, the SD is much more of a WIS type of watch and will always be more rare than the common Sub, but the simplicity of the 114060 is hard to beat. It's really a no-nonsense watch. If I had a 116610, it would be easier to justify a trade, but the 114060 is a special watch for me. There is quite a price difference, as well. I'd rather put that money toward something else.

Not me...the SDc is nice, but I prefer not to have a date, for aesthetic and functional reasons.

No, I prefer the 114060. I owned a non-ceramic SD once and didn't like it. I will keep the 114060 and save the extra funds for the next watch.

Possibly, and I'm a huge Dweller fan...but, I love the 114060 so much, that it's just an "upgrade" I'm really not sure I need to make. The perfect symmetry of a ND Sub dial is hard to beat. Plus I really like those chunky lugs.

Amen to the chunky lugs And I love the "big block" case.

Nope. The answer for me is keep the 114060 and ADD the 116600. Can't wait!

if 116610LN, i'd give it real serious thought.

goal being to have 114060 + 116600 at the end of the day.

If the prices were closer I think it would make a lot of sense.

My thoughts exactly. I'm of the same mindset as the OP (except it would be the 14060m I'd be upgrading), but these two are the primary barriers to going through with the switch.
