Hi guys,

I've been with just one stunning Rolex, my beloved Platty, now for over two months.

And I've come to appreciate it so much that I've also come to realise that it pays to own just one beautiful watch!! You get to appreciate it even more and more 'cause there's nothing else in your collection and you can give your whole-hearted devotion to just this one baby.

So, I guess owning just one Rolex, which you start to love and adore, does have its up sides!!

I agree, in the end, its just all about quality over quantity. Sometimes owning 3 automatic watches has a disadvantage to me because I can never create a fixed schedule of which watch I want to wear. Sometimes, Ill just do "ini mini miny mo" and pick whatever watch I land on.

But you get the idea of how indecisive I can be with wearing them and I can't appreciate one watch as much as you do with Platty.

So JJ, if I may ask, are you gonna own one Rolex for the time being and just see what happens at Baselworld next month?

Well, I really can't think of another Rolex for a very long time to come....Baselworld or no Baselworld.

First....I've got to take care of the outstanding bills on my recently refurbished "leaky" home.

I may have to be just happy with Platty for a very, very long time!!

I thought the leaky home repair bills were footed by the builder?

The original builder went into liquidation, Vernon!!

We did receive an out-of-court settlement, but it still wasn't enough to meet the total expenditure of NZ$5.2 million to refurbish the entire complex comprising 62 units.

We owners have to top up the difference!!!

jj, platinum is thy noble metal. i bought one of these. i've not worn it yet, didn't want to scuff it up, it's pretty to look at. thy dial is made of platinum and they bezel is platinum too most noble of all metals and the hardest metal to work with, special tools. i read vacheron constantine makes platinum dials and for every 500 they make only 150 are usable because platinum is hard to work with. plus i love knowing that there is 10 or maybe 15 grams of platinum in my watch and it's over $2000 an ounce. so i'm with ya brother: nobility thy name is platinum. way to go and i joined your club.

I used to have 4 watches and it was a Pain to decide which one to wear. I decided to go with my inherited 1965 Rolex Oyster Perpetual. It still is accurate to 1 sec. a day and has alot of sentimental value. I wear it, proudly, ever day.

When you have a good outlook on life like yours then you could strap on a Timex everyday and feel like it is a platinum DD! Of course the fact that you are wearing an actual platinum YM helps that smile widen just a little more no?

I would love to own a Yachtmaster eventually, I have a few questions about that watch. Is the bezel platinum too? Does the bezel rotate? Bi or Single directional? And is the bezel one piece, or two?

The bezel insert it platinum and the bezel rotates in both directions. The bezel is composed of multiple pieces.
