Really torn about JLC Master Control (value proposition)
I love the look of this watch, and when I tried it on at the AD I just KNEW it would be my next watch. But for some reason pricing seems to be really stingy. The ADs I've contacted so far are not going anywhere close to the 20%ish discount off the $7500 MSRP I've heard are commonplace for JLCs.
I know JLC is an amazing brand known for its high quality movements, but then again, so is Rolex. And the DJ is another watch I've had my eye on, and prob would be close in price. And the DJ imo is a lot more rugged and versatile. I would really like a dress watch to complement my Sub. Anyone care to talk me into or out of the JLC MC? |

I flipped mine-- after a while the all silver color scheme became too monotone to hold my interest. It's still a nice dress watch for the price range.

I agree. For the MC, RDM, and MUT Moon I like rose gold. For the others, I think they have enough going on to look great in stainless.

I think the MC is a nice companion piece to the Submariner. The DJ is a watch inbetween the two.

I think it's the nicest sub 5k dress watch that is made. From any manufacture... Keep looking, always buy pre owned if price is a issue.

It's nice having a leather strap watch in the collection, and JLC is an excellent choice. I agree it's a great complement to the Sub. DJs are great too -- but why not try something different than an oyster case watch if it is singing to you?

This model is one of the best values for your money out there. Do not buy it from an AD--get a pre-loved version from a trusted seller on this forum and it should be around $5K that is more than fair for the quality of the watch.
Until recently I have not considered this model at all, but once I tried it on I was sold on the quality of the timepiece, the size and the classic design. It really looks better on a wrist than on the Jaeger's web site. |

I have not bought a JLC on this forum yet, but I am looking for one.
It appears that a member 'wachulookingat' has sold quite a few JLCs. ' He has a Master JLC for under $5K. I have not purchased from this seller, so please do not take this as an endorsement. Govberg Jewelers and other jewelry shops post stuff here and on Timezone.com. |

The MC is a great piece. There are definitely deals to be had from an AD on JLC. You just have to keep looking.

Plenty of solid reputable sellers here. I have bought more watches than I can count from several sellers on here and 110% satisfied every time.

You could get around 10-15% depending on the model and the location. For MC, I'd got with a gentle pre-loved one. It is a solid $5K watch... $7K is pushing it.
