To 233 owners...
Noticed something concerning on my watch today and was wondering if it's normal on the 233. If you look at the crystal edges from the top (looking at the dial), it appears like the edges of the crystal (sides on the inside facing towards the case) are dirty or the crystal is sitting on the inner flange of the case and that part of the sad is dirty. Basically where the crystal and case meet. Seems to be all around the circumference of the crystal and I don't think its glue? Can someone confirm this please.
Here's a pic of the issue. |

I didn't see it on mine with my nake eyes. I see that you have the Dot and I have the am/pm.
I will look under a microscope in the morning to really see if it is there.

It's dirt
..it's between the crystal and outer-bezel.
The crystal of the domed-1950 PAMs create the optical illusion that it's on the rehaut but it's not. I had the same with my new2me 2005 217 before it got shipped off for full service. Your 233 is a DOT dial so I take it at least six years old; that's plenty of time to get dirty...

Yup it's stuff stuck between the glass and bezel. I use a paper's corner to clean it out now and then.

Thanks for the comments guys...
I wonder if the people at the boutique can pop off the bezel and clean it or if it will need to go to PASC. |

It kinda works... but unfortunately there is too much dirt. Gonna stop by ABC Watchwerks tomorrow during lunch to see if they can remove the bezel, clean it, and pop it on again.

Quick update, took my watch to ABC Watchwerks and they were able to remove the bezel (albeit by taking the whole movement out since my bezel didn't have a quick release indentation) to clean the crap that was stuck between the crystal and the bezel. It appears that it became that dirty from a shaddy polishing job and is most likely polishing compound or residue. Under normal usage I don't think any PAM with the dome crystal would look as bad as mine did. Now that it's clean it looks so much better...

But they clearly managed it without a hitch (and damn quick, too!) and I'm glad that you're glad you had it done
