bezel and bracelet
i recently bought my AP ROC s/s and experienced getting quite a few scratches on the bracelet and bezel during a night out..
is it possible to remove these scratches? how so? some say polishing, some say buffing.. what is the best way to put it back to original? the scratches bother me as i love this piece.. once i fix em, i promise to use it on occasions I'm sure it won't get scratches.. i'll be extra careful.. |

Send to AP or leave it alone. This is not a watch that you want to diy the brushed finish.

bezel and bracelet
If they are in places where you'd foul it up worse then no DIY fir you! (Channeling Soup Nazi)
But if easy to touch up you can also try a local certified watchmaker. Of Course if it must be perfect - then off to AP service. But maybe wait a month to see if you can live with it until ready for a full service.

Send to AP, the price quote might be quite low.

You may want to just leave it alone until more work needs to be done. I'm not sure that you can wear one of these and not have some scratches. It's definitely like a car, the first scratch is the hardest. I know you just bought it and that's what makes it hurt more.
If you must have it refinished, stick with AP. They will get it looking back to new, but there are probably only so many times you'll want this done. I'm personally going to wear mine and just enjoy it. I've got scratches on this and every watch I wear. After sending a Daytona for full service and polishing, I immediately scratched the polished part of the clasp, within 1 day! I feel your pain, but you could send it in now, spend a few hundred bucks (I'm not sure what it would cost) and wait a few weeks. But the next time or two you wear it (even only on a special occasion), you will scratch it again. So like many before, I'll say watches are bought to be worn. Scratches are inevitable. Try to forget about it any enjoy it. |

I agree with everyone, Royak Oaks scratch like a motherf***er! So just live with it and don't get to concerned otherwise you won't enjoy your watch.

i wanna have it fixed once because this time i was careless which caught quite a few scratches..
can in know where exactly to send it as i bought it from an AD. how long does it take to get it back to new? does this have any effect on the metal or do they just know what to do best? how much would this approx cost for removing scratches off the bracelet and 1-2 hairline scratches on the bezel..? any idea from those who have had this done? |
