Which GMT? Batman or Two Tone

I just can't decided!

This will be my first Rolex so I don't want to screw it up. ;)

Which has the potential for holding its value better?

Value, Batman over TT; Beauty, reversed.

I wouldn't get any watch that I felt compelled to call a "Batman"..

Agreed. Stupid nickname. PanAm would be better. Same colors and the source of the watch. On topic, I prefer the BLNR by a country mile. What a beautiful watch.

I think we have a consensus. :)

What's retail on the BLNR? I've only seen what's in the secondary market.

Whichever one sings to you. The rest doesn't matter. If you have not already done so, go try them on back to back and see.

The issue of holding value is complex. You are going to pay closer to retail for a BLNR, but TT traditionally does not fare all that well in the secondary market, so whatever kind of deal you could strike would be an important factor in this equation.

Again, just get the one you like the best...that will be the cheapest in the long run.

BLNR, and then you can still get the subc for a pure black bezel.

TT. Nothing like some gold! Spend some time trying them on, and see which one you like!

Ok ok.... I will withdraw from calling it batman. I'll go with BLNR.

I am annoyed with everyone calling the Panerai 372 the "Bronzo"

I hate stupid nicknames as well. I thought I was using the correctly terminology.

TTs tend not to hold their value as well. That being said the price of the BLNR is very high now, but it'll cool down soon.

BLNR is best all-rounder. Most versatile. TT takes a deep price dip on a resale. Plus, Ive had a TT and the glitz and joy wore off pretty fast. Just a bit showy for me.

Stainless is easy care, holds up well. You can also get it brushed if you want to change the look Can't do that with the TT.

So the TT doesn't hold value but the BLNR is overpriced. So what do you recommend?

The idea of holding value is not so simple as some seem to suggest. Against MSRP the BLNR will do better than the TT in the short term. If you're paying MSRP you will probably do better on the BLNR. But the real answer depends on what you pay for the watch. Depending on the answer to that either one may be the better value.

I bought a BNIB TT for $9.600 versus retail of $13,000. What kind of discount can you get on a new BLNR? Who knows, but it won't come close to that. I'm satisfied with the value I received for my money.

BTW, I bought the 116713 because that's the watched I wanted. But value certainly is a valid consideration even though I've never sold a watch. I just don't like to feel like I'm flushing my money down the toilet.

I love the TT. Picked this one up pre-loved, and I can't get enough of it.
