"M" or "Z" with "ROLEX ROLEX" inscription
Some Rolex models (Sub for instance) have "ROLEX ROLEX" etched all around the inside of the case below the lens. I have seen this on "Z" models, yet my local AD's Sub no-date in the window does not have this etching.
Does anyone know when this was introduced, and wether the etching appears on all "M" series? Cheers |

The RBR (Rolex Branded Rehaut) does seem to be on most M-series by now. Only exception - as stated - is the SD.
The RBR was introduced in 2004 with the new Datejust style (only on the YG ones on a leather strap to start with, though). A Rolex sport's model got it a year later with the YG GMT IIc ("Anniversary" version with green dial) and in 2007 the SS GMT IIc was launched, sporting the RBR.

Ah "Rehaut" appears to be the correct term for the item I was meaning. So the question really is when was the RBR introduced on Subs/GMT....

I was trying to figure this out a couple weeks ago, by querying people with newer 16613's. My Z990XXX has the RBR. The clasp code mfr date is July 2007 FWIW.

Did the no date sub get the RBR? Just wondering as it wasn't answered yet.
If so, then SD is the only one left.

Yes, the Sub ND (14060M with COSC rated Cal. 3130) has the RBR.
Even the Explorer ("1") received the RBR recently (a pic was posted here somewhere), and my guess is that the SD will get it, eventually. The SD with M35XXXX serial number I just bought did not have it, though, and thank God for that!

A Z series,
I believe recently there was a discussion about M series GMTs with the 3186 movement that did not have an engraved rehault. |

My Z SubDate bought three days ago does not have the RBR, of which I am glad.

And remember, it is just not the ROLEXROLEXROLEX, but also the serial number. You can see the first three digits of mine...

My wife's Everose Datejust is a D series and I do recall it having the RBR.
I will look again under a 10x loupe and check her serial number. |

Really seems to be random
My YM is a Z and a pretty late prodcution date Z but no RBR, I have seen others where the case was produced earlier than mine that have it so I guess it depends when the movement goes in to the case or who's on the bench at the time. Maybe its like recycling and they put RBR's in on Tuesday's (-:
