Help needed
Hi everyone.
I am looking to buy a watch and looking through the internet I found a site which has just an incredible price for the watch I want, the site in question is: buygoodwatches. Has anyone here purchased a watch from them or knows someone who did? Apparently they are in business from 2008 or earlier, so that's rather a good sign, the phone number is in the US, I really would like anyone who bought a watch from them tell me their experience with them, as the watch I intend on buying is everything but cheap, but they have such an incredible price, 20.000 USD when the retail price for the same watch is 36.000 that I am really wondering how that's possible, I wrote them an email where my first question was "is the price still the same or has it changed?". Since they have quite a few Pams maybe some of you have been in business with them already, any help or feedback about this dealer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your answers. |

Well that's a little bit what I am thinking, that's why I asked them if it's possible to go to the US and make the deal in person, it would be much cheaper for me to go there and buy the watch than to buy it in France, I have a good price from my favorite dealer here, 22.000 euros instead of 29.500, but their price is 20.000 dollars not euros, so I guess if they're ok to make a face to face deal why not, but sending 20.000 just like this…. At the same time they're in business for a long time and can't find anything on the net about them being involved in any kind of scam, this watch is at an incredible price, but they have many other watches, including Pams which are not with a very big discount, anyways waiting for their reply, will see what they say...

Maybe they made a mistake on the price and it's not 20.040 but 30.040, my first question was "is the price still the same or has it changed?"...

well, unless you had a trip planned to the states, you have to factor in that cost, and then the delta maybe is not so big compared to the peace of mind of going with a trusted local source. of course, this isn't the most common of pieces, so, i imagine there is less of a chance of things not being genuine.
bon courage ! |

Well let's say that this piece has a lot of complications, alarm, GMT, date, power reserve indicator, so the watch being fake is not very probable, anyways I am still waiting for their reply, we will see...

Well I got the answer from that site, the price is not 20.040 but 24.500, so it´s not more interesting than buying from my favorite dealer here knowing that I would have had to either pay taxes for the entry in Europe or have had to go to New York, so the subject is closed, when I have the money I will buy them in France.
Thanks foŕ your answers. |
